Helping My Country: College Admission Essay Sample

For quite a long time I was thinking about applying to a university in USA. USA is a country full of opportunities and surprises. I think I can use this opportunity to enhance my skills and experience. This is why I choose this country to do my Masters. There were few universities in my mind. But I was looking for place where I could get more opportunities to learn more about my preferable subject. Doing my Masters of Science in Statistics from USA was something I dream of. Stanford University have been my top priority since the beginning. It is one of the renowned university in USA. This university has a great opportunity for Statistics. I know it is not easy but it has been my dream to study in United States of America. While completing my under graduation from Bangladesh University of Professionals it was always in my mind. I was looking for a opportunity to get admitted in the university. When I get the chance I applied for Stanford University, which is one of most renowned university in the world. I know it will be hard. I have to face many obstacles. But I must go on and pursue my dream.

While doing my graduation in Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bangladesh University of Professionals; I took quite a liking to the Statistics course. From this course I learned about how Statistics works in every aspect of our life and this course was really interesting. Statistics is the Science of learning from data. It amuse me how much work they put in to collect the data. While collecting data and doing surveys that was given as assignment by my course teacher Afrin Sadia Rumana. While doing the assignment I got to know people of all classes, talking to them, collecting data. It was interesting to do. It was really amusing and fun to do so. That was when I found my passion for Statistics. So, after completing my graduation in Mathematics from Bangladesh University of Professionals; I thought Statistics would be best option for me to study in USA.

I was preparing for my university admission. My parents wanted me to apply for medical colleges. But I thought engineering is a good choice. I had something for CSE. I really wanted to study in this subject. Though I had some backup plan if do not get a chance in any engineering university. I applied for almost all the reputed university in Bangladesh. But I did not get a chance in any of those universities. Because so many students fighting to get their subject of choice. It was a really hard time from me. I starting to facing reality. In a world full of competition it is hard to get what you want. But my back up plan worked. I got selected in BUP. I had to get admitted in Bangladesh University of Professionals without having any interest in Mathematics. So, I said to myself next time I will not give up on my dream. Now, here I am applying for Masters of Science in Statistics. Though it wasn’t part of the plan in the beginning. But this time I am determined to make it to the end. So, I think I will be able to make it this time.

After completing my Master of Science in Statistics I’d like to be a Survey Researchers. That’d the perfect choice for me. Because collecting data, doing surveys, get to know peoples opinion, belief, disbelief is so much interesting. I always enjoy doing something like this. I will have so much room form gain more experience while doing this job. And I want do what’s gives me a chance to improve myself in every way so that I can apply that knowledge in every situations or circumstances. I could apply experience on the betterment of the society.

In 10 years I want to see myself as a successful person who matters to the family, society and the country. Becoming someone that would not be a burden to the family or to the country. I see myself in developing my country. I want work for the development of the country and the people. An underdeveloped country needs help with qualified people. I want see myself helping my country with the experience I gained in the past years. It has been my motivation. Also my family was always there for me. It motivates me more than anything.
