A Hometown Acceptance at Different Periods of Life

Every people have their own home town wherever in the world. According to Cambridge Dictionary, hometown defines as the town or city you are from or the one in which you were born and lived while you were young. Some people who moved around frequently when they were young would be hard to define their own hometown. However, I lived in Korea, Gyeong-Ju, which I can call my hometown that I lived for a long time since I was born and raised. I lived Gyeong-Ju for a long time and It is natural to get attached to my hometown. I never moved around here and there. I spent most of my life there since I was young. Gyeong-Ju, it is one of the most historical city in Korea. Because of lots of historical relics form ancient times, Gyeong-Ju is really quite and static city. Mostly young people want to move and live another city. But, for me, Gyeong-Ju always gave me nostalgia and release myself.

To introduce more about my hometown, Gyeong-Ju was capital city of the Shilla dynasty since it was erected in 57 BCE. Shilla kingdom ruled over most of the Korea peninsula in the 7th century. From time immemorial of history, Gyeong-Ju have lots of cultural heritages in area. Therefore, Gyeon-Ju is South Korea’s first nominated UNESCO World Heritage Site and numerous other national treasures. Because of that, lots of tourists visit Gyeong-Ju and enjoy lots of cultural heritages and sightseeing. To compare with other huge metropolitan city, such as Seoul, Busan and Daegu, Gyeong-Ju does not change and develop a lot because government set severely restrict to develop and construct something to protect traditional heritages and cultural properties.

When I was young, I also want to go outside of my hometown, because it was very quiet and unchangeable city for young generation. It makes young people find fun and dynamic city to enjoy their lives and I also want to move out from my hometown. After I entered to university, I moved to Deagu, which is one of the metropolitan city in Korea. I really excited and enjoy fun activities that I never experienced in Gyeong-Ju. However, I begin to miss my hometown occasionally. Definitely, huge city does not have close bond with one another that usually relationship in the neighborhood of a country village.

In addition, I missed lots of my middle school and high school student’s days. To look back upon my school days, I had several close friends and we made lots of memories during that time. Even though, Gyeong-Ju have quite small downtown and do not have lots of attractive for young generations, but me and my friends spent lots of fun times together. For example, we ate lots of delicious food and had a chat each other. Gyeoung-Ju always reminds me at that time of memories and nostalgia. Since we graduated from high schools, my friends split to go to different city and different universities. It makes me hard to keep in touch each other and meet together. However, Gyeong-Ju, my hometown, always makes me reminding my most beautiful experiences in my life.

To conclude, I do not like my small home town because of boring and monotonous life when I was young, now I really love my hometown and miss a lot for my beautiful memories. Now, my little hometown makes me claim and relaxes whenever I think about it. Also, it reminds my most memorable experiences that I missed a lot.
