A Mistake I Learned from "Thank You M'am" by Langston Hughes

Making mistakes is not the greatest thing to do in life. We are not perfect, and neither is this world. It is normal to make mistakes in life, but you will regret that mistake. How I did with my father. But we always learn from our mistakes, growing up into young matured adults. In the story “ Thank You M’am “ by Langston Hughes, Roger learned from his mistake, he tried to steal somebody else’s property. In my life being, I have stolen before but, I learned from that mistake, & wouldn’t do it again.Roger learned, that he should never steal, he should always ask or just work hard for it. Roger tried to steal Mrs. Jones, pocket book, but he fails and Mrs. Jones starts a disagreement with Roger. After that she takes Roger home, to get himself cleaned up. She asked why on Earth would you steal my pocket book, he did not have any money, and he wanted those blue suede shoes. It was a poor choice, because he knew he would end up in prison or jail. It turned out Roger, learned his lesson right from wrong.

I learned to never steal from others, it doesn’t look good on your part. My mistake was, losing my relationship with my father, who recently left my mom. I regret this mistake. I learned to never lose someone as close as my father. It was my mistake on my part, because I was never talking to him or even saying “ I love you “. When he left my heart was broken, because I had no idea what to do without a father. I now know to never lose someone you truly love. Both Roger and I learned to never make to mistakes. You will always regret them, like I did. Unlike Roger I made a huge mistake by losing my relationship with my father. Rogers mistake was different because he tried to steal, I lost a relationship. I’m glad we learn from these mistakes in life because if not we would not be here right now. We can always go back, and look back and say I did that, and won’t again.
