Winning six academy awards, and quickly “sky-rocketing” to the top of the box office in the year of 1994. Forrest Gump quickly stole the hearts of America. A single feather is shown flowing in the opening scene, just drifting down towards a little town, the white feather contrast to the dark sky background. The credits in the beginning shots are shown in white are clearly visible, but not too dominant. This feather moves towards the names on the screen to draw focus towards the actors names. High angle shots are used to show how insignificant and small the feather is in comparison to the people ad surroundings. Also, the feather is shown flying above the characters heads- This suggest that people are very narrow minded and unable to see to notice the little things. Wide shots are used to show characters full body, this is allowing me to notice the posture and behavior the main character. Close up shots of feet are shown, the feather is showing the compassion between dirty shoes and a clean feather. Gump has picked up the feather whereas others ignored it. Anyone who watches this film will relate to Gump in some way, we are not all perfect and Gump is the epitome of showing that.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

Tom Hanks does an impressive job as playing Forrest Gump. Acting as a grown adult with mental and physical disabilities can be a challenge for most, but not for Hanks. Presenting Gump as an a well groomed man who does not care about anything in the world but his mother (Sally Field) and his childhood sweetheart, Jenny (Robin Wright Later on into the movie I was introduced to Bubba Blue (Makati Williamson) an African American, unintelligent, mommas’ boy who is Forrest best friend and battle buddy in the Vietnam War. Around the same I was introduced to Lieutenant Dan (Gary Sinise) a curt, and unfriendly drill sergeant who also happens to be Grumps and Blues superior. To make my point, I think that all the cast made a remarkable film. After watching this film with a critical eye, the storyline is so surreal if I did not know this was a non- fiction storyline. I would think that was based off a true event

From growing up with mental and physical disabilities, to being accepted into the army and playing football for the University of Alabama. Gump is such an inspirational character that lights up this whole movie. Life truly was not a piece of cake for Gump, but he overcame all his obstacles in his life. While watching this incredible story unfold of a young, brittle boy who becomes Americas greatest hero. This story is truly an inspiration to me. Growing up as a child and now young adult with disabilities. I truly felt empowered after I watched this movie. It may be harder for me to do somethings that usually take people a second to do, but when I finish what I have started. Furthermore, the results and the feelings that came over me make me feel on top of the world. I firmly believe that this movie should be shown to all children and young adults in college. There is a very powerful message in this movie and its if you work hard enough for something, you will achieve greatness. After watching this movie, I feel unstoppable
