A Review of The Movie, Pursuit of Happiness Featuring Will Smith

In the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness’’ there are some characters that accepted personal responsibility and there are some that did not. But to accept personal responsibility you need to adopt a creator mindset and creator language and also you need to make wise choices. Also, some characters in the movie “ The Pursuit of Happyness” master self - management and some do not. To master self - management you need to live in mostly quadrants one and two, develop self - discipline, and develop self - confidence. But the ones that do not go through a process, so they can get better in those areas.

First of all, the thing with accepting personal responsibility is adopting a creator mindset and I think Chris Gardner if not anyone else did that. He mostly got that mindset because he caused himself to see that there were many options to get himself and his son back on their feet, so they could have a better life. But his options were to try his best to get that job as a stockbroker and to sell his devices that he either called time machines or bone density scanners. So they can get back on their feet and pursue a life of happiness. But Chris did definitely have a inner critic and an inner defender because when his wife left they came out and they were saying now I’m not going to be able to live a happy life because I lost everything except for my son and because of me my wife left and I have no money, no job, and no house. When his inner guide was trying to make the best out of the situation and he did because he came back and said I’m going to try to make the best of this situation with my son and I’m going to try my best to get the job, so I can provide a living for me and my son.

Secondly, is that he had self - discipline which is also self - caring. He knew what he had to do and he would stay focused, stay being persistent, and stay committed because he kept his word and tried for the job and he got it. But also he will stay anywhere and do anything to get what he wants.

Lastly, is that he had self - confidence because he had a success identity and it was being a creator and being a successful person and landing a job. So his son and him can pursue happiness. With his new job as one of the stockbrokers at Dean Witter.

They called it “The Pursuit of Happyness” because happiness came to life for Chris and his son. But the happiness in the movie did not come to be in the mood of happiness first. It was sad at first because without selling his devices and working as he did, nothing without him working hard for the job and telling himself that he can do it because he needed himself to do that along with his son's sake. But did that for them because they needed the money for food and settle. But also, they needed it to pursue a life of happiness and that's all that mattered at that point as long as they had each other because all they needed was happiness and that's why they called the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness”.
