When I was in high school, I wanted to observe will more students take the SAT or ACT. I believed this method was appropriate because observing individuals as a sample does not involve manipulation. This study focuses on the importance of everyone visually. During the time, I was a senior and I was interested in the ACT. I thought the ACT would be much easier to excel than the SAT because I believed a lot of people pass the test. I also believed that the other students would choose the ACT too. A lot of the other students were debating on which test would be easier and which test would be challenging. On my way home from school one day, I decided to use my observational skills to find out will more students sign up for the SAT or ACT. The next day, I saw some of the students looking at posters. The posters reminded students that the SAT and ACT were taking place that Saturday with different testing centers. Beside the posters was a sign-up sheet for ACT and a sign-up sheet for the SAT. The students were still debating, so no one signed up for either test yet. I figured out a way to see if more seniors will take the ACT or SAT. I decided to observe 30 students. I wanted to find as many seniors as I could, so I chose some friends, band students, choir students and associates. I observed in three of my classes including lunch. My first class of the day was math. Five of my friends took math with me. They were discussing the SAT and ACT with me and another student. Three of my friends said they would prefer to take the SAT and the other two were going to take the ACT. After math class, I took history. There were several athletes in my class and they began to talk about both tests. The athletes decided to take the SAT instead of the ACT. During lunch, I saw a crowd near the sign-up sheets. I walked over and I saw seven of the senior choir students signing up for ACT. There were six band students over there by the sign-up sheets. Four of the senior band students signed up for the ACT and the other two signed up for the SAT. When lunch was over, there were five seniors rushing to sign up before their class. I walked over again and five of the students signed up for SAT. Thus, more seniors chose to take the SAT than the ACT.
