Advantages of e – Commerce

  • Replacing creaky legacy systems: Too many systems and too little integration is not good for business. The entire business core, which consists of financial/accounting, logistics and human resources management. The HR market alone represents a $30 billion installed base of software migrating from legacy systems to e – commerce solutions. The goal is to deploy application frameworks that reflects current business practices and are capable of change.
  • Gaining greater control: Too many expenses and too many administrative headaches. Mangers wants to know how much they’ve sold, what they’ve shipped, their complete inventory status, and why inventory looks the way it does. Most legacy apps cannot provide managers that information. As one manager of a large company told us, you can’t manage what you don’t know.

Disadvantages of e – Commerce

  • Bad Quality Products: We cannot check the quality of products while online shopping. According to the description only we ordered and buy the products. This makes the risk of buying destroyed. Bad products are reached to us. Recently we have received the news that peoples got bath soap in place of buying mobile phone.
  • Personal Details: Consumer have to share personal details for buying any products. Card details are mandatory to fill. It can be the big risk.
  • Additional Cost: As online stores are open all the time because they do not need a physical space as compared to the other traditional stores but there are so many additional costs related to the e- commerce websites such as delivery charges, and many other taxes are includes.
  • Major Future Trends of e-Commerce

  • Customers count speed of services as a key reason why they do business with certain companies. Customers hate delays and more specifically hate waiting for service.
  • Look at new trends in online car purchasing and home refinancing. The message to the marketplace is clear: To succeed, companies must reduce the processing time between search, selection, and order entry and order fulfillment. Delays at any step of the process are unacceptable.
  • The company identified unnecessary hands-offs as delaying the production process. For example, each order was entered into the system three times. First, customer service would enter the information after writing down the buyer’s specifications and use printed schedules to determine a ship date.
  • Time starved, dissatisfied consumers in an environment of hostile competition, low margins and countless sales outlets selling similar products, it becomes clear that changing the entire business model is the only plausible strategy.
  • e- Business applications must cut the time customers wait for service. Customers now penalize companies that infringe on their time through delays, mistakes or inconvenience.

Augmented reality will be a major trend of future e-commerce which will help to reduce customer dissatisfaction on e-commerce by $260 billion.
  • Ways to analyze the behavior of customers in order to boost sales revenue will be a major future trend of e-commerce.
