Abortion is perhaps one of the most fundamental issues in history. Women have a choice to go through with the pregnancy or terminate it. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control in any circumstance. It was decided in 1973 by the Supreme Court that, During the first trimester a women can not be limited on how or when she wants an abortion. During the second trimester, the states interest is in the mothers health and they can make a reasonable suggestion on how or where it will take place.

During the third trimester it is in the states interest for the unborn child and may prohibit the abortion unless immediate danger to the mother. In 1992, Ronald Reagan and George Bush requested the Supreme Court to reverse it. It was denied by a five person majority rule. It stated that upheld by the due process clauses of the constitution, protects women liberty to choose an abortion prior to viability. Those who are pro-choice agree with these protections on abortion. On the other hand, people like me who are pro-life do not agree with these circumstances. We believe in rights of the future of those unborn children. As pro-life I will start with helping to try and make it illegal unless of rape or danger to the mother, in the state of Nevada.

In some ways you could define pro-life as being conservative, because their main focus is preservation of human beings. They also support strict limits on abortion. Though liberals focus on man, they also focus on materialism, process of illumination, and more on human nature than conservatism. To define conservatism to believe that limited government will ensure order, competitive market, and personal opportunity. They believe for change in moderation. In comparison to liberals, conservatives want to keep the government small except in national defense. Even though conservatism takes a more passive look at human nature, they believe in strong leadership intuitions, firm laws, and strict moral codes to keep control in our society. They believe that people need to solve their own problems because of their own mistakes.

Being pro-life categorizes it in a Republican party. The Republican party was born in the early 1850s by anti-slavery activists and people who believed the government should grant the western land to the settlers free of charge. They became national in 1856, but were considered a third party. The other parties were Democrats and Whigs. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican to win white house. Republicans were calling themselves G.O.P gallant old party. Which they are now called the grand old party. Some of the Republican interests are in the education and opportunity. This goes along with the education for the children, that they have the highest achievements. Nothing is more important to Republicans than literacy. They want to help children as much as possible in education, medically, and their safety. They also believe in renewing family and community. Not only do they want to promote a family with a father and mother, but help those who are single mothers with the Second Chance Maternity Homes so they wont be in poverty. They believe that homes with both parents ensures environmental stability. They have interests in the individual rights as a free society. There will be no discrimination against race, color, creed, religion, age, or disability. Any of those circumstances can not interfere with education, jobs, or any establishments. Some Republicans are part of pro-life and try and make it illegal for the most part.

Changing or making a law is a lot harder than just doing it. Since Congress makes the laws, it will have to go through all branches. The legislative branch passes the law, the Judicial branch interprets the law, and the Executive branch enforces it. Before the president signs the bill, it needs to be approved by both houses, signed by the speaker and the vice president. If the president signs it, the measure becomes a law. If the president vetoes it, it can not become a law unless it is re-passed by two-thirds vote on both houses. For me to start out I will need to form or join an interest group (those who have the common interests and want to influence the government.) I will learn both debates on pro-choice and pro-life. By learning both sides people might be influenced to do the same. I will need to watch the news and read about both as much as I can. I will then form a petition to send Congress, and not only have those who are pro-life sign it, but try and get those who are pro-choice sign it as well. We will form groups to try and help women who have nowhere to turn. By forming city wide groups helping and influencing others, it will soon hit the media. By calling them or having them find us will promote power to pro-life. I will get the medias attention by telling them what they want to hear, yet stating my point. Hopefully this will lead to a change of heart of those who were pro-choice or in trouble. Small changes make a big difference in our society. I believe by passing abortion in the state of Nevada illegal, except in certain circumstances, will help other states decide. I also believe that it would lead to a lot of changes on how people make their decisions. Not only might people start using more birth control and protection, it could lead to less STDs. It could also lead to less teen pregnancy because people would not have the choice to terminate their mistake. By one thing being changed, could lead to a world of a difference.
