Conspiracy and Secret Societies

In their book “The Complete Dossier,” Brad Steiger and Sherry Steiger explore various conspiracy theories that seem to explain certain issues in the society. In the world, certain concerns remain unexplained; however, it is difficult to argue that the origin or causes of a particular aspect can continue to be a mystery. Considering that there are increased innovations, it is inexplicable that particular concerns remain unresolved. However, in the midst of these confusions regarding particular global phenomenon, some people develop theories which instead of finding the truth on these complicated matters they create further controversies. In this book, the Steigers look at some of the conspiracy theories that explain the emergence of HIV/AIDS in the world. One of the dominant theory concerning HIV/AIDS is that its origin can be traced to some virus from primates. Although the issue of AIDS/HIV originating from monkeys is universally accepted, its validity is suspicious.

In 1979, Steiger and Sherry reveal that the first HIV/AIDS cases were reported by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention; this was found among Manhattan gays (2). However, reports indicate that the disease was present in Africa as from 1984. Theorists such as Dr. Robert Gallo argue that HIV/AIDS could be as a result of a human and animal conflict in the Congo Forest. However, it is speculative that the disease is associated with primates in Congo Forest, but the first cases of HIV/AIDS were discovered in Manhattan. If human conflict that is associated with Africa is the cause for this scourge, why is it that the first cases were discovered in the United States? Considerably, this demonstrates that there is a conspiracy of making the African continent more liable for the presence of HIV/AIDS. Considering that America has adequate research resources, it would have been easy for its authorities to discover Aids in Africa before it reached in America.

One of the scholars who sensationalized the HIV/AIDS topic is the Kenyan ecologist Wangari Mathai who argued that HIV/AIDS was a biological creation that was supposed to act as a chemical weapon (Steiger and Sherry 2). According to her, AIDS/HIV was a ramification of the demerits of chemical warfare creation. However, her assertions appear to have some form of reality. Loue indicates that in the 1970’s, there were increased chemical warfare activities in the United States (23). For instance, it is indicated that the chemical warfare institutions in America were merged with the cancer research center. It is suspicious that when the United States decides to increase its commitment to chemical warfare, it is the same time that AIDS/HIV emerges. Apart from the chemical warfare laboratory activities, Steiger and Sherry indicates that the United States had carried out immunization programs on Hepatitis B patients in the 1970’s in Manhattan (4).

The coincidences and disparities that arise regarding the cause of AID/HIV seem to prove that indeed this disease could be as a result of chemical experiments in the developed countries. The assertion that the human and animal conflict explanation fails; this is because research discovered AIDS in Africa in 1984 and 1979 in America. If this human and wildlife conflict had happened in Congo forest, then the first cases would have been reported in Africa rather than in Manhattan. Further, it is coincidental that AIDS/HIV emerged when there were increased laboratory activities in developed countries. With the evaluation of this situations, it is apparent that the assertion that AIDS/HIV originated from monkeys is a ploy to hide the realities.
