Construction of The Iron Man's Character in The Avengers

The Avengers is a team of superheroes assembled to fight threats no single man could handle. The Avengers cannot always stop evil before it happens, but they can avenge it. In particular one superhero on the Avengers stands out amongst the rest, a man so selfless and brave he elected to save a city at the cost of his own life. Tony Stark, or as he’s more popularly known, Iron Man, is a brilliant thinker, with the means to back inventions and finance the team’s missions. Iron Man is astounding, he wanted to condemn himself for the greater good; he grabbed hold of a nuclear bomb destined for New York City and at what seemed to be a life threatening mission drove the bomb, and himself, through a black hole away from the city. The mission he placed on himself he did selflessly and brilliantly. He saved a whole city without a second thought of himself. Iron Man is the greatest of all the Avengers.

Iron Man is popularly known as the leader or captain of the Avengers. Much like most captains are the best players on their respective teams, Iron Man is the best of the Avengers. He wasn’t the only one that could’ve done what he did with the nuclear bomb, surely Thor could’ve flown away with it, but no of course it was Tony to step up and take one for the team. Captain America made a remark to Tony as he flew away, “you know this is a one way ticket?” Rodgers was referencing how Stark would not come back from this. Perhaps this quote portrays Captain America’s fear, conveying how he was having second thoughts about the process. Of course Stark knew this would probably cost him his life but that was not going to stop him, the people he was saving was worth surrendering himself.

Tony Stark has all of it, good looks, wealth, charm, and knowledge, not to mention a suit of armor that transforms him into a flying tank. If you have had the pleasure of meeting Tony Stark you have gone head over heels for the man, laughed so hard at his quick witty comments you found yourself gasping for air or were severely beaten up and thrown in jail. Stark has the ability to entertain and impress, I mean his quick witty jokes are incredible, when he calls Hawkeye “Legolas” it is so smart and smooth it had me dying of laughter. The line where he is talking to Loki and they are stating which side is stronger and he looks at him and says, “we have a hulk,” is just hilarious. The other Avengers just can’t compare: Dr. Banner is quite awkward with his fear of anger, Steve Rogers does not understand the world he lives in: he is very old fashion; Thor is an alien and speaks like a textbook reads. Tony is a super genius, he invented his suit and drives his company, the other Avengers cannot keep up. It is not fair to say the other Avengers are not smart, Dr. Banner stands out as a genius, but Banner did mess up his serum quite a bit to turn into the Hulk. How smart can he be to make a mistake like that? Style, I mean this guy does it all, his suits always look sharp and his iron suit puts itself on with jet packs to match his style and breathtaking demeanor. He always keeps his cool even in the face of danger and death: when he was soaring into the portal he answered Captain America, “yes, I understand,” he said, levelheaded and calm in potentially his final seconds. Iron Man is witty billionaire and leader of the Avengers.

All good super heroes need superpowers and extra tight costumes. Who has the best superpowers? Lets look at the facts: Iron Man can shoot lasers, launch rockets, fly, and redirect nuclear bombs from Earth, who else has that on their resume? Captain America just cannot compare, he has a shield and increased strength, but Iron Man has that in his suit, and more. Thor comes close but with Iron Mans perfect calculation skills and unchallenged accuracy he can do things the other superheroes just cannot. Who was it that flew and grabbed hold of the tin can filled with explosives, clutched it to their chest and passed it through a black hole into another dimension? Would Thor have even known to do that? No, I argue he would not or else he would have. Stark is the best and greatest avenger.

Based on the facts one can clearly see how Iron Man is the ultimate avenger. Not only is this man powerful, smart but without him the Avengers would not exist. Without Iron Man’s money whom would fund the Avengers? If that is not enough Iron Man makes a viewer laugh more than that awkward Banner does, he is a billionaire mastermind and has faultless style. He wields the greatest range of superpowers including his incredible intelligence. Above all else he was the one to save the city. Tony Stark is the best Avenger of them all.
