As we have mentioned above, as the heart muscle begins to weaken from the narrowing and blocked filled with plaque arteries the person will start to feel chest pains also known as angina. Which the patient will begin to experience discomfort and may feel like pressure or squeeze in the chest. The pain also can occur in the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw, or back. Angina pain may even feel like indigestion. Also, a heart attack can also occur if the flow of the oxygen rich-blood to a section of heart muscle is cut off. A heart attack is a serious health problem if it’s not treated quickly because it can lead to a severe health problem or even death; because if the blood flow isn’t restored quickly, the section of the heart muscle begins to die because of the lack of blood flow that is needed for that certain section. Over time, CHD can weaken the heart muscle, which can lead to heart failure and arrhythmias. Leading to a heart failure a condition in which your heart can’t pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs.
According, to the research coronary heart disease starts when certain factors damage the inner layers of the coronary arteries, which these following factors include: smoking, high levels of certain fats and cholesterol in the blood, high blood pressure, high levels of sugar in the blood due to u-insulin resistance or diabetes, and blood vessel inflammation. The buildup of plaque in the coronary arteries can begin as early in childhood. The plaque might begin to build up where the arteries are damaged. Over time, the plaque begins to harden or rupture, as the harder plaque narrows the coronary arteries and reduces the flow of oxygen rich-blood to the heart. The person may begin to feel discomfort which most likely chest pain. Over the worse condition, blood clots can further narrow the coronary arteries and worsen angina, if a clot becomes large enough, it can mostly or completely block a coronary artery and cause a heart attack. There are many risk factors for CHD, the lack of physical activity can worsen the risk factors for CHD, the needs to be physically active can be good for the heart. Having an unhealthy diet can also raise the risk for CHD especially for food that are high in saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, sodium, and sugar can worsen other risk factors for CHD.
