It’s now the time of year when Christmas trees and wrapping paper start popping up in stores. If you have to stay in your dorm around the holidays, you might as well take the time to decorate it accordingly. There are tons of fun things you can do to your dorm room around Christmas, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to do so. No matter what holiday you celebrate, you can bedazzle your dorm into celebratory perfection. Let’s take a look at how you might be able to setup your dorm room for Christmas and more. Miniature Trees.
Mini Christmas trees are perfect for dorm rooms because they are easy to setup and take down. You can buy one for $20 or so at Wal-Mart, which can also help if you don’t know where to buy essays online, and then you can decorate it with all kinds of mini-lights and ornaments. I once had a blue Christmas tree in my dorm room, and it was the talk of the floor. You can easily jazz this up to be a perfect representation of what you would do with a full sized tree.
You can hang ornaments all over your room for some makeshift holiday artwork. If you cannot put nails in the walls, you can always use Command hooks to hang some of these up on the walls. You could put a whole string of them around the edges of the ceiling, or you could put them on closet doors you do not use. Try to think of some creative ways to use these, and then you should be able to come up with a few unique ways to use ornaments in the room. One of the coolest things I ever saw with ornaments was a chandelier that someone used in a dining room. This was actually a fixed feature of the room, not just something for the holidays. You could do the same thing by making a chicken wire cover to go on top of your light, assuming you don’t have a fan. Make the cover big enough so that the wire won’t touch the light itself. You can screw or nail this in later, but then all you have to do is hang the ornaments from the chicken wire. Change them out whenever you like to create a versatile and beautiful piece in your dorm room.
Who says you can only use wrapping paper on gifts? You could buy some cheap poster frames and use rolls of wrapping paper to make your own wall art. Think like an interior designer, and try to come up with ways to put wrapping paper in the room without making it look cheap. You could make textbook covers out of it, and then your books would look like presents on your shelves. Rolls of wrapping paper are usually pretty cheap. You can even find them at the dollar store. Just make sure you recycle whatever you don’t use because wrapping paper is considered a recyclable paper.
I have this Santa Claus pillow that I bring out every year just because it’s so cute. You can get some fun holiday pillows to put in your room, and then all you have to do is put them away when the seasons go away. You could always get an entire set of bedding to reflect the holidays, but the pillows should be creative enough for you. Sometimes a little touch will go a long way. All you need after that is some hot cocoa mix and a Kenny Rogers Christmas CD. You should be all set to enjoy your holiday adventure right in your dorm.
