Earlier today, I busied myself with the “ever-so-great” task of finding out exactly where we got it all wrong(by the way, if anyone’s got an answer/solution to the problems that has befallen our community, then please indicate below, let’s start a revolution already, can we?)
Moving on, there’s the problem of inequality, injustice, corruption, tribalism, religiosity, unemployment, power outage, etc. Most of us folks never even make it past getting the attention that we need , let alone being heard. Are all men really equal? Well no, especially not in any part of the world.
Call it discrimination against black people or Racism if you like, it all stems from the age-long notion -inequality or superiority amongst the human race. If its not the colour of our skin, then our “net worth” differences does it the trick. Either that or your level of education, fashion style or “connections”/ affiliations. Since we’re mostly black-skinned (with a few light-skinned persons), what’s in force is discrimination between the wealthy and the ” have-nots”. Also, there’s the issue of bureaucracy and politics at play in almost every facet of the society. Our epileptic legal system mourns and hopes for a better yesterday. Our heath sector has long lost its vibrancy. And the quality of education given our “leaders of tomorrow” almost impracticable. Where did we ever go wrong?
What does the future hold in store for us? How are we ever gon get out of this mess? When? A society where everyone’s talking and complaining bitterly but no-one’s doing. The pot calling kettle black. So many things have gone wrong. Like how many of us exactly pay taxes? Keep the environment clean? Against logic support our leaders and maybe pray for them?
Corruption should not only be associated with the government since most of us have skeletons in our cupboards. Yea, we often forget to acknowledge our own faults and misgivings.
Until we are willing and ready to become more responsible, honest not judgemental ,active and not passive , practical and less religious/hypocritical, Nigeria would not experience any significant growth or “change”, the change that we truly need and rightly deserve. As for me, I’d rather be optimistic than trail behind the majority and chant ” E no go fit beta for this county”. Hope against hope.
