Good and Bad Impact of Globalization

Globalization is the key word of having this huge world coming very small. It has changed the way many people think, behave, react, talk, dress and take actions in different fields. It made the international aspects from all around the globe looks national, then regional and even local entering to each home more than any earlier time. Globalization is term that is being deemed as something new on this planet, however it is not and what is new is the technology and rapidness of communications with the information age, e-commerce, low cost manufacturing, and availability of trade. Globalization has opened a broad spectrum of an interconnected and interdependent world with trade of goods, services and even capital on an international level. In addition, the globalization has also come with many concerns like the bad effect of different cultural traditions and believes on other ones. Regardless of these concerns, this essay is going to argue that the positive side of globalization is much greater than the negative which can be easily observed in our daily life.

Firstly, the globalization can save the time of people and reduce the need for starting from scratch. Whatever information a person is needing, he will simply work on getting it from the experiences of other people around the global by searching the internet looking for web-sites, e-books, experiments, reviews, feedbacks, side effects and actual case studies that he will not able to find at all or will find it not to the needed level if he just relied on his local resources. As a result, being able to get this fast, is saving time and money, reducing risks, avoiding mistakes and improve the quality of the studies and information gathered and analyzed. For example, to start a certain new trading business, the person planning to have it will look into the accumulated experiences others had earlier and will discover that the concept that may look excellent is not really good involving many unexpected issues that will have his business failing initially or eventually due to an unexpected risk elements, so it is not copying but actually benchmarking. Another aspect of our Global becoming one is the technology side that is now allowing everybody to have the entire world available at his or her finger print being able to perform an endless number of services electronically such as shopping for anything from anywhere, e-learning, conference call meetings, booking hotels and tickets, communicating and getting immediate confirmations via the different means of the social media applications.

Moreover, the globalization affected a lot the employment in all its aspects like the location which opened the door to find a job and go to join it wherever it is having the entire globe as a possible labor markets especially for the countries with high density and population like China and India, with further possibilities to continue moving from a job to another dynamically looking for more money, better benefits, higher positions, wider scope, different experiences and even simply a different part of the world to the extent of settling abroad and obtaining a different Nationality. Another side of this is being able to produce some products and sell internationally directly or through an agent especially in the less known regions or countryside

Nevertheless, the bad impact of globalization on the social life and the economic life is noticeable. From the social side, the different cross-cultural believes are causing conflict between the different generations as many parents nowadays are with the opinion that the freedom is misused and classifying some behavioral acts of their teenagers children as unacceptable and disrespecting the local culture, religion and traditions. From the economic life, many shops are suffering from having less business as people are now open to buy online from the entire global market without being limited to the local districts where many shops got no option than closing their business being unable to compete in this very challenging global market.

In conclusion, although the Globalization has its own negative impact especially the different cultural aspects that can suite certain communities but can’t be accepted by other ones, on the other hand it is still bringing many advantages in term of prompt important useful information, electronic commerce, effective technology, saving time and building up on earlier case studies and experiences. It also affects the employment nature to be available worldwide with no boarders. Globalisation is not only about making the human life easier and smoother, but also increasing the knowledge, reducing cost, saving time, exchanging experiences and overall efficiency.
