If you are wondering how this occurrence happen, I prepared a list for you below about the real cause of snoring. Many people think that snoring only happens when you are tired from work or from the whole day activities. But the real cause of this is the blocking of the airway. And blocking of the airway can be caused by many circumstances.

Thick tissues in the throat – the usual person with thick tissues in the throat are those people having too much fat in the body, in short, over weighted people. We can’t say that all fat people snore but most of them do. But how does thick tissue really affect our sleep? Thick tissue will narrow down the airway that makes it harder for the air to travel. With this state, the air will look like it is forcing itself to pass and will cause vibration. This vibration will now make a whistling noise or worse, disturbing noise we now called snoring.

Clogged nasal passage – there are instances where our nose can be clogged. It can be caused by cold, and allergies. All of us have experienced this situation. That makes snoring inevitable.

Elongated uvula and soft palate – you know that tissue hanging in our throat like the shape of a droplet we called uvula? It can cause blockage in our airway if it is long enough to collide to other tissues. It will cause vibration when the air passes and will soon produce a sound.

Weak tone of the muscle tissues in the throat- our muscle tends to relax in some instances. You are right if it occurs to you that maybe the cause of it is being tired. But I bet that you don’t know why and how. Let me explain it to you. When we are tired from our duty, our body will extremely relax including our muscles. If our muscle relaxes, it will fall down and block the way. Same goes with the tongue. People in a lie back posture in bed tend to snore because of the tongue. It tends to fall back in the throat and cause blockage. Some foods, medicines and drinks have relaxant contents. So better watch out on what you consume.
