Human Nature and Ambitions in Frankenstein

The story begins when a sea captain named Walton saved Victor Frankenstein’s life, then Victor Frankenstein starts remembering in flashback what happened to him. As a young man, Victor left his home to achieve his aspiration in studying science. During his studies, he decided to work on a biology project to create a creature, which seems impossible to the human mind. He worked on this project in his laboratory for long nights with determination and persistence.

On a dark night, while Victor was sleeping on his desk because he was tired, the lightning struck and the monster came to life. Victor was horrified because of the way the monster turned out; the monster was grotesque and bloodcurdling. Victor forgot that the project he worked long nights for is actually a creature.

Victor tried to escape the reality of him creating the creature, which is the wrong way of dealing with any problem. The monster climbed a mountain where he found a cottage; he met a blind man, who couldn’t judge him by the way he looks. The monster tried to blend in so he can live in this world, but people weren’t giving him a chance because they judged him by his appearance.

The monster wanted to get revenge on Victor because he created him this way. The monster killed victor’s brother, friend and his wife because Victor didn’t want to create a spouse for the monster because he couldn’t imagine bringing another monster to life.

I think the monster represents the problems that Victor faces during his life. Victor tried to run away from his problems, but the problems became more intensive and horrible.

These problems had a negative effect on his beloved ones. Each person in this life has his own problems if you ran away from them they will become worse.

In life we do things that we regret, so we have to think carefully before doing something, and if we fail we have to take full responsibility for the consequences. Since it was a sudden realization to Victor that he spent his whole life exiled from happiness and warmth to create something that is against not only nature but to himself. He was so occupied in his work that, even though he left mildly revolted during the process, he had the strong urge to keep going because this is what he was meant for. However, in the end, after his job was done, his thoughts on himself and others struck him hard to the point of illness.
