Leon Trotsky was a man betrayed by a country that he helped build. A Marxist killed by his own people. Leon loved his country probably more than his wives and children. He had many achievements and an intriguing past. Trotsky was a military man and writer with a passion for Russia.He was born on November 7, 1879 in Bereskleva Ukraine. His parents were the Jewish peoples David and Anna Bronstein. David was born 1847 and passed 1922, and Anna was born 1850 and died 1910 (Anna Lev Bronstein). His real name was Lev Davidovich Bronstein. Leon was raised in Bereslavka and went to school at 8 and ended highschool at 17 to attend Odessa University.

While at Odessa, Leon found Marxism(Communism) and he started to believe in it with a passion. But, after 2 years of college he was sent to prison for preaching about Marxism back in 1898. He was later changed to a prison in Siberia to be there for four years. In the Siberian prison he met his first wife, Alexandra Lvovna (Leon Trotsky). With his wife, Leon had two daughters in the prison. In 1902 he escaped from prison and left behind his first family to go back to preaching Marxism. Because he did not want to be caught soon after he had just escaped he changed his name to Leon Trotsky (Leon Trotsky). He went to London to avoid capture for escaping. There he met his second wife, Natalia Ivanovna, and had two more children, but this time they were both boys.

Another person that Leon met in London was Vladimir Lenin Lenin too was a Marxist and agreed with Leon with many things and from this they started to become close friends. He stayed in London for a bit with the group that he and Lenin were in until in 1905, revolutionaries in Russia were killed at a march (Leon Trotsky). He was angry and went back to Russia to try and stop the bloodshed. He became the leader of the movement against the government in Russia and tried to start a revolution (Leon Trotsky). The rebellion was crushed and he was once again sent back to Siberia. But, during his trail, Leon made an amazing speech that amazed many of the higher ups (Leon Trotsky). He escaped in 1907 and spent some time in exile outside of Russia, waiting for things to cool down (Leon Trotsky).

While he was in exile, he wrote articles in Russian revolutionary magazines (Leon Trotsky). In 1917 the Tsar was overthrown. Trotsky headed to Russia, but secret Russian operatives told British agents to apprehend him in Canada (Leon Trotsky). He was there for a month before the provisional government in Russia wanted his release. He got to Russia and
