November 1906 Chicago Dear Aunt Bessie, We are living in a time of growth, and when politicians create laws to help our society. There have been many protests, amendments, Political Machines, and Reform, and muckrackers to expose what is wrong in our country. There are many movements going on. I believe Child Labor, Living Conditions, Women’s Suffrage movements are the most deserving. I believe the $600,000 should go to the Living Conditions Movement.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

The Living Conditions movement is creating building codes to create safer housing. Houses easily fell down. Many people are homeless and supposedly in 1904 one in three people were close to starving. Many children often slept in “sleeping huts.” This reform will also help the homeless people in our country. Aunt Bessie, I believe this reform deserves the $600,000 because no one deserves to live without a shelter or roof over their head. I believe $300,000 should go to the Child Labor Movement. The Child Labor movement is trying to stop children working by creating strict laws.No kid should work if they are under 14. Industrialization didn’t create child labor but it did contribute to the need of children workers.

The kids that are working are usually 10-14 years old. Some children are as young as seven years old though. Some kids had to lie about their age just so they could have a job to help with their family. Children often come home sick, injured and have worked long hours. This also keeps children from getting an education. It also decreases the chance of having another generation of children. I believe this movement deserves $300,000 because children don’t need to be in jobs like mining or long houred jobs they I believe the $100,000 should go to the Women’s Suffrage Movement. The Women’s Suffrage movement is trying to get women the right to vote. Many people are getting tortured for no reason. In 1848 there was Seneca Falls Convention to support women’s rights. Two very important women are helping us succeed in this dream. Those two women are Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Women are always judged by their gender we should be allowed to vote even if we are women. We are not any different than the men. I believe this movement deserves a chance and $100,000 because we deserve a vote.
