Dream Vacation Essay Example

When traveling with my grandparents, I’ve always loved visiting the beach. The sand between my toes, the wind in my hair; t is my paradise. All my life I have had the desire of going somewhere exotic with an astonishing view of the water from almost anywhere I stand. If I had a ticket to go anywhere, I’d choose Fiji because of the beautiful beaches, the scenery, and the glass floors in the over-the-water housing. I can imagine the sun is steadily descending to the point where the sky meets the horizon, therefore, creating a cluster of beautiful hues across the evening sky. When looking down towards the beach, I could see the sky reflecting across the water, thus giving it a yellow-orange coloring. As I step onto the damp, soft sand, my feet sink as the sand pushes its way between each toe, wedging into the creases and heaps above even my big toe. With each step I take sand sticks to the bottom of my feet, leaving imprints of my journey towards the line where the land and sea meet together. The water is so clear, from where I stand on the beach, I could see the turtles swimming around just above the ocean floor along with small schools of fish swimming around showing off their aquamarine coloring. When I reach the water I stand for a few minutes admiring how all the different hues work perfectly together, forming such a beautiful scene that only God himself could create. When stepping into the warm, translucent waters I would be able to see every grain of sand as it swirls around my ankles within the miniature waves created by my movement as I inch forward.

Far in the distance, I could see dolphins jumping above the water playfully splashing as their bodies submerged beneath the surface. The scenery would be like my childhood imagination was becoming a reality before my bare eyes. In every direction, there are things I would have never dreamed I’d see. Strolling down the meandering trails, there is a new experience around every corner. All the white sandy beaches, the coral gardens, the lagoons: Things the majority of people can only dream of having the privilege to experience. No matter where I would turn there would be luminous colored flowers, which seem to awaken the world, bringing it to life. The air around me would have a sense of calmness like nothing dreadful could happen in this little world around me. Looking into the treetops, I would notice vibrant colored birds flying from tree to tree looking for a treat, or even just a cool, shady place to escape from the blazing sun. The trails in front of me are bare except for the occasional animal scurrying past and the exposed roots from the trees creating an arch above my head as I walk. As the wind shifts, the sand in the air would brush past me, raising each hair on my arm, sending chills down my spine, but cooling me off at the same time.

The ocean water is just a small distance away, consequently, forcing me to inhale the salty aroma produced from rotting seaweed far beneath the ocean surface. While unpacking my bags, I would be able to glance out the window and get a glimpse of the beautiful birds colored so vibrant compared to the sage treetops surrounding them, however, looking down through the floors I could see into a completely different world. Staying in an on-the-water living arrangement, I would get to enjoy the privilege of having four-foot deep glass floors all throughout the house. Thus allowing me to enjoy the sight of the vibrant colors of the coral reefs and the marine life swimming below me. While watching the schools of multi-colored, iridescent fish swim under my feet, I can’t help but feel as if though I am somehow a part of their world; making me feel as though I am a mermaid in the waters of Fiji. Having the opportunity to travel to Fiji would be a dream come true. It would be like taking a child to Disney World; I would be overwhelmed with joy. The beaches, the scenery, and the glass floor over-the-water living is something I’ve always wanted to experience, therefore, if I had a ticket to anywhere, I’d choose to go to Fiji.

My Dream Vacation in Iceland

I’ve packed my bags and I am headed towards Iceland. This gorgeous country is usually overlooked when people are asked for their dream destination. They usually go for more beachy and sandy like vacations, but they don’t really think about natural beauty. Iceland is the land of ice and fire and is a great travel destination so let’s review some places that I really want to visit and experience.

I would definitely want to see all the geological creations, breathtaking landscapes, geysers, volcanoes and naturally heated pools that stay warm even in the freezing cold winters. My dream would be to go to these fascinating heated pools in the Blue Lagoon which are considered the biggest attraction in Iceland. The geothermally heated water is a very strange yet eye-catching blue and green turquoise kind of colour which is filled with mineral salts, silica mud which condition and exfoliate the skin. I would want to also go on a tour guide that goes Kayaking, glacier climbing, cave exploring, and camping. The last thing I would have to see would be the Northern lights, a natural phenomenon unparalleled in its beauty.

Of course, my journey would begin in the capital, Reykjavik. This amazing area is filled with spas, museums, music and sporting events and venues along with some very nice high-class restaurants. Once I arrive in Reykjavik, I will want to explore some art and history museums to learn more about Vikings along with other art pieces and cultural aspects of Iceland. Reykjavik has many exquisite places to travel because it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and because of this, there are a lot of waterfront paths that are very popular with joggers and cyclists. I will see the Solar Sculpture that is a must for sightseeing for every tourist who visits Iceland.

After I leave the capital and leave for less busy areas, I would find myself in visiting the incredible Vatnajokull National Park that covers more than 14% of the region of the entire country. It has the largest glacier in Europe, the Vatnajökull glacier, where there are a lot of active volcanos. I am going to have a unique experience and take a dip in a lake in a volcano crater. In the park, there are a lot of powerful rivers with waterfalls. I think I will go on some challenging hiking tour along the interesting hiking trails. After spending several days of hiking, I would like to relax and rent a cottage in a small farming village where I will be able to watch wildlife and taste some local food to learn more about Iceland’s diverse culinary style. I would like to taste rugbraud that is a sort of bread which is cooked in a strange way – people bury it underground under hot springs to give it more of a flavour.

After I leave the National Park, I am going to travel all the way over to Westfjords, an overlooked tourist place. Westford is where Iceland’s dramatic landscapes come to a riveting climax and mass tourism disappears. Only 10 % of tourist are able to see these landscapes, however, I am determined to visit these rocky cliffs. In Westfjords, you’ll see very rocky cliffs and broad colourful beaches. In the far north, the hiking reserve leads up to a very quiet and peaceful area which is filled with very sacred wildlife like arctic foxes, and different birdlife.

One of the main reasons for my dream vacation in Iceland is to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. The country is famous for its unique combination of surprisingly beautiful earthly features. There are few places on our planet where you can see geysers, glaciers, waterfalls, winding rivers, volcanoes, beaches, and whales so close to one another.
