Report on Evaluating Web Design of Two Sites

The year 2018 was really special and full of adventurous event year for me because I became an adult, graduated my high school and entered the University. Although all that events were interesting, living without my family in a new hometown was a real challenge for me. In other words, living alone is not only sleep, eat individually but also it is a big chance to do things that you wanted before by yourself such as cooking bizarre food, making home party with my friends. One of those amazing things is furnishing my own room by myself like a movie scene. Therefore, I went on a google and visited many websites in order to find out elegant, affordable furnitures. I thought carefully about the criteria I needed to use to evaluate the website carefully. After some work, I found 2 websites: Christopher guy, website A (Christopherguy. com) and Kartell, website B (Kartell. com). As far as I’m concerned that Kartell website B is easier to use understand whereas Christopherguy website A had better graphics, layout and more informative links. Considering all of the criteria that I selected, I chose 2 interesting websites.

The reason I chose visual appeal as one of my criteria is that first impression is important for consumers to buy furnitures. The other criterion I selected is layout because the way website is set up and functional purposes hel in navigating website. Furthermore, information and usefull usage are very important due to the fact that If product information doesn’t provided as well as we need, it is just timekiller. Therfore, visual appeal, layout and information are the criteria that helped me choose website A as the right website to buy furnitures.

Most consumers want to be amazed visually by a website, and Christhopherguy website markets it’s furniture better than Kartell’s by making the site visually appealing. In fact, website A looked so minimalistic that used only 3 colors: black, white and pastel colors like turquoise. I saw furnitures of all kinds, with mirror, sofa, table carpet and more. All of them seem like futuristic or contemporary art due to the color and shape. Website B had many amazing furnitures too, but some of them looked too strange owing to their many kind of colors. Christopherguy’s website layout was well organized and symmetrical than Kartell’s website layout. Symmetry is an object or design that is symmetrival has two halves that are exactly the same shape and size. The human eye is attracted to a symmetrical shape so that website A looked better than B.

The comparison of product information between the Christopherguy’s and Kartell’s showed that Christopherguy shared a greater quality of information. In my opinion website should provide information as many as possible according to their difference.
