The value of education is to ignite a spark that develops creative thinking skills and the value of reasoning where school is the avenue. An institution for teaching and preparing the youth to meet the future needs in order to function in a society not only academically but emotionally, socially, spiritually and economically. But why is that school continually misdirects the youth of today? Overriding the joys of education and making students anxious and depressed? Where as time goes by it is slowly destroying creativity, individuality and being intellectually abusive?

School is not conducive for education to take place anymore; it’s about getting good grades, focuses on perfection rather than progress. This in one of the student’s biggest causes of stress. Everything being done in school is looking towards on aiming for a perfect general weighted average and studying late-nights to do well on standardized test. Fear of failure and disgrace as a motivation to continue studying. As more pressure to perform builds up, many starts to doubt if they were really be able to succeed and the thought of not making it to the next level comes into play. It is unfortunate how most of them collapse under too much pressure from teachers and parents. Academic stress can take complete control over a student’s life, sometimes leading to depression. The pressure on children to achieve high levels of academic success leaves negative effects. In addition, cramming information on them each time examination week approaches, can help on generating academically bulimic students. The process of pressurized and forced to mug up things without really understanding them. An educational hypocrisy that grades matter more than the depth knowledge and acceptance over questioning things.

The vast majority don’t understand this, however the present instruction framework was created during the industrial revolution. A definitive objective was to accomplish similarity considering how students of the same age are placed in a similar room, given similar data for a settled timeframe. A one-size fits all approach. Moreover, they are also being assessed against the same standards. One of its distinguishable industrial era practice is the use of bells signaling the beginning and end of each period. With these approach, our education is producing machines out of students which could lead to disarray if left untreated. This clearly indicates the truth that the present framework, with its accentuation on the repetition and memorization, is considered not adequate for the present time. Managers need graduates who are profoundly gifted in creativity, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem solving. These are the essentials to prevail in the present occupations of today not a machine that the only thing knows is on how to follow rules.

We need an educational system that focuses on collaboration rather than competition. That learning should be a more active process. A paradox to learn about the world by being taken out of it. (Grobstein, 2018) We ought to have sufficient time to be on trips and learn things hands-on in the outside world rather than enclosed in the four corners of our classroom. We need to rethink our fundamental goals and approaches for education, and for life. Let us get moving because while students may be twenty percent of our population, they are 100% our future.

Every nation needs to create an education system that students are no longer imprisoned in what they call school. An environment that will excite and stimulate students, providing them the exact learning they deserve in order to fully reveal their potential. A complex of practical educational methods where fishes are no longer required to climb trees.
