Overview of Situation with The Corruption in Tajikistan

Corruption became a decrease in Tajikistan and almost all over the world. No one was born to do it, but bad condition forced them to do so. As you know our country got independence in 1991 and was making prosperity to a bright future, corruption acts and the civil war stopped it in the middle of the way. Now the war ended, but corruption acts are widespread.

Today, you can face it everywhere in hospitals, government offices, education system, the military sphere and etc. I think the reasons that force people to do corruption are followed: As salary is too small for people who work for Government on different infrastructure it does not cover their monthly expenses and as they can’t live with their salary they make it with wrong ways. These bad actions impact to prosperity and economy of our country very badly.

For example, when teachers have a small salary they always think about finding money to cover their family expenses instead of classes. They will not find another way except corruption to make more money. The same problem is facing other systems such as government and others. For example, when traffic policeman stops a man for a rule violation and wants to find him, that man offers him a bride which is good for both side, but a catastrophe for the government. Thus, our Government stays poor and we won’t develop. To solve this problem I would propose several ideas.

Firstly, execution for doing corruption act must be tightened. There is a good proverb: to defeat corruption by gallows was not successful in a country. Thus we have to tighten our rules and executions in order to defeat corruption. Secondly, the government should try to involve more investors and make more workplaces and control that money. The salary should be paid enough to cover the average expenses of workers. We should learn the experience of other developed countries and the ways they struggled against it and defeated.

Moreover, taxes are too high for workers and Government takes a part of their salary that they could cover their expenses more. It also impacts businessmen who make their business and make workplaces. Furthermore, taxes should be decreased and the government should provide opportunities for businessmen and government workers. In conclusion, I want to say that even it will be very difficult to struggle for corruption we have to do it because our country cannot continue his way to prosperity and development without corruption acts.
