Rosacea: I would tell the patient that this is a shell disorder that usually affects the face causing redness, broken blood vessels, and acne type wounds. I would tell the patient that it is mainly genetic and can have allergy triggers. Not to mention it is prevalent in both guy and women at any age and are more likely to be harsh in men. I would also tell the patient that there is no cure but there are modern and oral treatments. They might also need to see a Dermatology in severe cases to benefit treat the blood vessels. Psoriasis: I would inform the patient that psoriasis affects 2% of the population and involves parts of the skin become elevated and scaly. Psoriasis can affect anyone at any age but people between the ages of thirty and sixty are most affected. It is also an autoimmune disorder and can be genetic.

Psoriasis can’t be cured but it can go into remission. I would tell the patient that psoriasis can flare up out of nowhere or if they contract a strep infection. Treatment is modern corticosteroids, tar medication, oral antibiotics, sunscreen due to increased sensitivity, and vitamin D ointment. Dermatitis (eczema): I would tell the patient that eczema is inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin. Eczema also comes in different variations. Sub Q eczema is less intense and can heal faster, another type of eczema is genetic and affects mostly children but can go into adulthood, another type is caused by allergies, another affects mostly adults, and the last one is coin-shaped patches that appear on the legs. Cure is usually moisturizers, corticosteroid cream, anti-itch cream, hot soak, antihistamines, and oral corticosteroids. Hives: I would tell the patient that hives are usually caused by allergic reactions and can linger for a few hours or up to a few weeks. Hives are wheals that can vary in size, amount, redness around the wheal, and color.

Anyone can get hives at any age. Some hives don’t need any cure and can vanish on their own. Other kind of hives may need oral and topical antihistamines, modern ointment, EpiPen, cold soak, sunscreen, and corticosteroids. It is important to determine if the hive was caused by an allergic reaction to help prevent hives from coming back.Rash: A rash is a patch or patches of the shell that become red, inflamed, itchy, warm to the touch, and cause skin lesions like wheals. I would tell the patient that this can be caused by dry shell, sensitive skin, medication side effect, bug bite, allergic reaction, too much skin rubbing, fungal infection, and long-time exposure to heat and moisture. They can also be side effects to disorders like Lyme disease, lupus, rosacea, and psoriasis. Rashes can happen to anyone at any age. In most cases rashes aren’t very serious may just need moisturizer, anti-itch cream, oatmeal bath, or no treatment at all. Other times antihistamines, topical ointments, anti-fungal cream, or anti0biotics depending on the severity and the cause.
