“Video games foster the mindset that allows creativity to grow”, said Nolan Bushnell. Video games, a highly debated subject for many parents, have been the subject of social stigmas for a long time. Many believe that video games do more harms than goods, and waste precious time for kids and adults alike, time that could be spend on other more productive activities or outdoors hobbies. Nonetheless, the video game industry continues to grow at a dizzying pace, and it is becoming one of the most predominant type of hobbies in the age of technology. In 2018, the video game industry generated $119.6 billion dollar in revenue, with the number of gamers reaching 2.471 billion worldwide. In the US alone, at least 150 million people play video games on a regular basis, for at least 3 hours per week, with 72% of gamers aged 18 and above. So this essay discusses the video games and the positive effects it has on people.

Over the years the gaming industry has evolved and become extremely popular. With the onset of technological advancements new games and gamming patterns have been involved. The great video gaming world now have generated billions of dollars having with over millions of player’s form around the world fighting, purchasing, crafting, and selling in a variety of online games and environments. One of the most populous was Activision Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. The hugely popular multiplayer web based amusement (MMOG) drew a huge number of supporters, who brought the organization an expected $1 billion every year in retail deals and membership charges from 2007 to 2010. MMOGs contrast from conventional PC diversions in various critical ways. It was the most loved game and brought about a change in the gaming industry. A recent report also found that right around 33% of female players and about 10 percent of male players had dated somebody they met in a diversion. Most of the games are usually paid and chargeable but a few organizations even offer incessant downloadable “patches” of new amusement games to make the month to month expenses more agreeable to players, while others offer their diversions complimentary to players who will endure a flood of in-diversion promotions. Video games’ benefits towards the player don’t just stop at the thought process of an individual, but also have positive effects for players’ social skills. Many multi-player games require users to interact to trade or to complete challenges, connecting people with similar interests from around the globe effortlessly, helping kids and adults alike to have more chances to socialize and sharpen their communicative skills in order to reach their goals. The skills mention above easily translate to real life application, as the results of these exercises can have benefits in the smallest aspects of gamers’ everyday life. These skills can make a person more considerate, more logical and critical in the ways they think and act, as well as helping them having more confidence in socializing with others.

Gaming isn’t just advantageous to grown-ups and adolescents, yet to youngsters also. Numerous advanced training organizations fuse computer games as an instructing technique. This enables these youngsters to enhance their scholastic aptitudes by giving computer games that are particularly gone for improving their psychological and imaginative abilities.

Just like any other games, video games can help relieve stress greatly from school, work, or any other aspects of a person’s daily life. The sheer absence of stress and time spent doing what one enjoys can help to improve mental health greatly. Of course, the positive benefits of video games are only present when played moderately. Parents may argue that time spent in front of a screen is better spent playing soccer or going outdoors, but if the person doing such activities do not enjoy it, this can lead to more stress being created, and of course physical exhaustion from doing such activities. To get the most out of video games, it is best to play them in moderation. Parents should always keep an eye on their children’s consumption of video games, while respecting their wishes to play it along side encouraging them to do other physical activities, in order to create a balance environment for their children to grow.

Video games, just like any other hobbies, can become a passion. With its competitive nature, many video games are now treated like sport, and can give players opportunities and rewards which rival that of mainstream sport. Gaming is no longer viewed by developed countries as an enjoyable pastime, but as a true testament to one’s skill and abilities. The common definition of a sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. E-sport, as competitive gaming is officially called, hit every single one of these points. In competitive gaming, players need to have incredible precision and remarkable hand-eye coordination. The amount of practice a player needs to reach this level of skill is comparable to that of any sport, and the commitment that a player needs to have to reach the professional level is possibly even greater than that of any known sport. Additionally, teamwork is usually a key factor in the process of reaching victory. You need to be extremely competitive against your opposing team as well as having a deep understanding of your teammates in order to produce the best possible result. Lastly, on the physical side, E-sport can also be extremely physically demanding when it needs to be. Players will have to put physical stress on their hands and eyes through constant training and practice. Your hands need a lot of training in order to be able to rapidly press and pull a wide range of keys, triggers and buttons.
