Walt Disney’s animated classic film Pocahontas is established as a true story on a Native American girl named Pocahontas. Not only was it the studio’s first historical-based animated movie but it helped show diversity being that she was a Native American leader. The movie itself might have had good intentions to the younger generations, however, it was falsified in different aspects. Disney changed the story by making it a perfectly sentimental and energized romantic tale. The Pocahontas film created by Walt Disney encourages and entertains young adults by showing organization, bravery, and getting children interested in history.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

The movie Pocahontas showed organization in many ways that could teach children methods that could help them throughout life growing up. The first Method was when John Smith and the other English sailors arrived in the New World and started setting up camp. Planning and organizing went into play when it came for hunting food and finding clean drinking water for them to survive. Chief Powhatan and the rest of the Native Americans showed skills using hunter-gathering techniques that they were taught while growing up. The techniques they organized help them survive during that time. In the movie, Chief Powhatan had Pocahontas

Life planned out. He had plans for his daughter to marry a Native warrior, however, the Disney Princess had other plans in mind.

Pocahontas is a great princess that is very brave. She has a ton of personality and great qualities to educate people on. She never surrendered when challenges were out of her control. She faced her clan as well as her Father to make wise decisions. Pocahontas shows so much fearlessness. She didn’t even move during her first experience with John Smith when he pointed a weapon at her. Pocahontas simply needed some harmony against them and her clan. She portrays as if she didn’t need there to be a war. Some convictions she supported even against her dad. For example, “You will have to kill me too,” said Pocahontas when she shields John Smith from her dad. Most adults would tell you as a child never to go against the people who raised you, but she stood very strong about her beliefs. Pocahontas attempts to grasp a better understanding of John Smith by conversing and meeting up with him. This Disney princess just wanted to stay neutral and not have to pick aside. Majority of the least loved Disney princesses were attempting to discover their Prince, their one genuine love and affection. Pocahontas had other plans. John Smith was a tall, adventurous, clean groomed English explorer and very much different then Pocahontas. Most know that interracial relationships had been an issue. However, Pocahontas showed a positive evolution. Throughout her everyday life that wasn’t her objective. She simply needed an upbeat life. When she meets John Smith, despite everything, she became hopelessly enamored with him. She simply needed to find out about his reality and his life. Pocahontas shows you that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Just because somebody looks different does not mean there unequal.

While this film isn’t exact, despite everything it gets children involved in history. She is one of the most famous Native American princesses in history. She teaches the youth how to promote peace. Disney Studios created a modern version where young adults could identify with. For example, the setting is in Jamestown, Virginia, and the movie shows her as a very mature historical character. The film shows you the key elements of trees, water, fire, and wind. Pocahontas, the movie, shows you her beliefs that spinning arrows guide her path. The clothing that they wear in the movie shows you how life was different before our time and they embrace the clothing through the characters of the movie.
