The Second World War is a history of the period from the end of the First World War to July 1945. There were many causes of this disaster but the main one was the rise of Italian Fascism in the 1920s and the political takeover in 1933 of Germany by Hitler and his Nazi Party and its aggressive foreign policy starting in 1936.Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler were known as the: the “old lion” against the “German eagle”.
Winston Churchill, saved Europe from the Nazi rule, and Hitler brought Germany some of the greatest victories until World War II. Later on, left Germany badly wounded post World War II. Even though there was so much conflict Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill never met. If they had met it would have changed the course of history in the 20th century if the Nazi had made a different decision in the spring of 1932.Sir Winston Churchill was a British writer, military leader and statesman. Twice named prime minister of the United Kingdom, he forged alliances with the United States and Soviet Union to defeat Nazi Germany World War II and Appointment as Prime Minister Winston Churchill was the prime minister of Great Britain from 1940 to 1945, leading the country through World War II until Germany’s surrender. Although Churchill didn’t initially see the threat posed by Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930s, he gradually became a leading advocate for British rearmament. By 1938, as Germany began controlling its neighbors, Churchill had become a staunch critic of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s policy of appeasement toward the Nazis.
Hitler’s effect on the people of Germany was a lot worse that Churchill’s. Hitler killed millions of citizens. Churchill’s effect on the people helped the people of Britain defeat Hitler. Churchill was what most people call a “inspirational” politician, not the charismatic one unlike Hitler. No one was overawed by Churchill’s physical presence in the way they were by Hitler’s. Hitler used fear to his advantage.
In terms of man-management, Hitler was astonishingly – the more considerate boss. Churchill’s secretaries often became annoyed by his rudeness and lack of indulgence, whereas Hitler was adored by those who worked closest with him. He remembered all their names, birthdays, and visited them when they were ill, and they repaid him with lifetime devotion, even after his crimes became generally known. One of Hitler’s maids recently spoke out about how Hitler treated her. Her verdict on her former master was: “He was a charming man, someone who was only ever nice to me, a great boss to work for. You can say what you like, but he was a good man to us”. Churchill was loved by his staff because he was “saving civilisation”, not because of his off-hand way of treating them. In 1940 things got so bad, his wife had to remonstrate with him about his manner.
Rosa went into Hitler’s service at the age of 15 in 1932 when she was Rosa Krautenbacher. Her sister Anni had worked as a cook at Hitler’s Berchtesgaden retreat since the late 1920s. “She said he needed a housemaid and I would fit the bill”, Rosa recalled. “I remember so clearly the first day I spoke to him in the kitchen. I said I was Anni’s sister and that made him smile, because Anni was his favourite. I only ever knew Hitler as a kindly man who was good to me”.
