The internet is accessible to almost everyone from around the world. It can do many things, like helping people with things like fixing or building an item. The internet has many effects on people, but these effects are mostly negative ones. It has evolved over the years, with people helping to grow and expand it for many uses. It is also mentioned on a daily basis, with Google and Bing being some of the things that are mentioned that are associated with the internet. Though, as said before, there are positive and negative effects of internet, this essay shows these effects can vary from person to person.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

Firstly, what are some positive effects that the internet has? One positive thing about the internet is that you can find whatever you want, whenever. The types of things you can kind are games, music, news, and much, much, more. Some browsers that can help with finding the said things are Google and Bing and are used on a daily basis. Another positive thing is that you get to meet people from all across the world. Although, meeting new people can be a good, it can also be a bad thing, depending on the situation. It is recommended to talk to people in the real world after a long period of time talking to people on the internet, so then you don’t lack in real life social skills. Another thing is that skills that you have can potentially be improved. There are video games on the internet that can help with leadership skills, strategy skills, and hand-eye coordination. There are far more skills that could be mentioned, but for the sake of this essay, only a few can be mentioned. As said before, people say that there are good things about the internet, like the improvement of personal skills. While this is true, there is no good without the bad.

Secondly, what are some bad things about the internet and how these can potentially affect people? One of these bad things are online predators. As said before, depending on the situation, meeting new people can be a good and/or bad thing, with online predators being the bad thing. A predator is a person who fakes their identity to gain personal info about the target, who are usually young people. This can often lead to abductions if the predator meets with the target in real life. If anyone ask for your information, don’t. Another bad thing about the internet are online scams. Though most people don’t fall for these, young people, elders, and gullible people do. Whenever you are surfing the internet, do not give out information from untrusted sites. One main thing that is bad about the internet is the fact that people are becoming less active. Since people become “addicted’ to the internet, they refuse to go out and do everyday things, like walking around, talking to friends or family, or working out, and instead stay at home and look on the internet. Being “addicted to the internet can affect current relationships with friends and family, and can potentially change your reputation in a community and your wellbeing. Even though there are good things, it also comes with its downfalls, such as the example stated before.

Lastly, how has the internet changed people from around the world? How has it changed people negatively? Over the past few years, people have become more lazy, since robots are being created by people who were possibly inspired by the internet. Even though, building the robots require physical work for the creator, it is less work for others. Also, since robots are taking more and more jobs year after year, people are becoming even less active and instead of working, people stay at home, browsing the internet. Today, people rely on robots doing tasks for people, unaware or not caring about the malfunctions that the robot could potentially have, if used too much. As the internet evolves throughout the years, gaining knowledge every day, people have also become less smart, being dependent on the internet and thinking that it will help them anytime. Whenever somebody doesn’t know something or how to do something. “Google it”. Although, the internet is good at giving out knowledge fast and easily, people are relying on it for giving out knowledge wherever a person goes. Sometimes, the information that is found isn’t always right. As said before, there is no good without the bad, but there’s also no bad without the good. Even though, there are bad things, people can get positive effects out of the internet, like becoming well known and potentially becoming a celebrity, getting knowledge from credible sources, and can also give out tips on how to become a healthy person and how to have a healthy wellbeing. The internet has affected people both physically and mentally, like becoming less smart.

To conclude, the internet has positive effects, like developing and/or improving personal goals such as hand eye coordination, leadership skills, strategy skills, decision skills, and much, much more. Even though, there are good things, there are also negative effects, like becoming less active and stay at home, browsing the internet, and making people less smart, making people dependent on the internet to get the knowledge, wherever, whenever. These effects can also be completely different and the effects can vary from person to person.
