On Oct.6, 1973 Syria and Egypt, supported by the Russia attack on Israel. Prime Minister Golda Meir asked U.S President Nixon for help to her army that had been decimated in 1973 Yom Kippur War and the 1967 Israeli War against the Egyptian and Syrian armies.

After the war of 1973, Egypt and Israel begin peace effort between them. Under the guidance of U.S president Carter, Case-fire talks started Between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. The meetings ended with the Camp David peace accords, based on U.N. resolutions 242 and 338. The Camp David accords ended the war between Egypt and Israel and laid the foundation for the so-called “land-for-peace” deals between Palestinians and Israelis.

During 1980 dispatch the high level officials, such as secretaries of state George Shultz and James Baker and Ambassador Philip Habib, to attempt the serious discussions between the Israelis and Palestinians. During this Shultz reopened the communication between the U.S and Palestinian Government. U.S got the victory in the Persian Gulf War and then president of U.S George Bush and Soviet President Michael Gorbachev present a peace conference in Madrid to resolve the conflict between Palestine and Israel. The conferences reopen the Palestine and Israel negotiations. Over the next two years, the United Nations and other nations started discussions between Israeli and Palestinian leaders. In 1993, at the 11th round of peace talk, Israeli foreign Minister Shimon Peres announce that Israel and the PLO make a deal in Oslo name “Land For Peace”.

In 1995, the Israeli and Palestinian leaders met again in Washington, D.C with President Clinton to discuss the specific steps for the newly formed Palestinian authority in the West Bank and Gaza strip. However the United States lost an Israeli extremist who was opposing the Oslo deal, assassinated Rabin in November, 1995. After one year of talk and increasing violence in the Middle East president Clinton led a face to face talk between Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahun for the implementation of the final elements in the Oslo deal.

In 2001 the President Bush sent his secretary of State Colin Powell to the Middle East to meet the Israeli President Ariel Sharon and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat for peace talk between them.
