In America we come to find that the American dream is not so simple. The American reality is this, a place where everyone has a very hard time finding success, money, jobs, opportunities, and housing. The people of this country are in a state of economical loss and recession. America is a place where prosperity and dreams are something to be idealized and achieved but that is not something to be hopeful for. The idea of hope is nothing more than a dream in this day in age, the people of this beloved country can’t seem to find hope in their everyday lives whether that be in faith or in the job that they wanted. People are in a constant struggle to get what they need and the chances that are presented before them are slim. In today’s day and age, we see people of all races who are impacted both mentally and physically in the streets of America. The people on the streets and living the life of refugees and they cannot pull themselves out of that situation according to Eckman Hélène who created The Price Tag for the American Dream. This video that he created was meant to convey the social and economic conflicts that were presented to the large demographic of people that were or had been currently facing these challenges and people who were curious about the topic.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

Citizens of the U. S have a very hard time finding jobs that pay well (Eckmann). Later in the video a woman who was living in a motel with 3 kids and working 4 jobs was not even getting paid the amount you needed to even eat. People of this nation do not get proper housing for what they are working and are suffering because of it. In the article written by Kyle, Sarah Jane called the Coloradoan she talks about the averages of a family of 4 costing roughly $64, 000. Cites that have high inflation are at an economic loss in the end because the citizens and the low class are not given any or if at all opportunity to show their wits to achieve something. Housing is something we all need and to be self sufficient we need to have enough money to support ourselves. People of this nation have a never-ending loop of problems from debt all the way to financial wellbeing. Across the U. S we see the incline and decline of people who have worked and gotten laid off because of the jobs they were working for wanted to make budget cuts so that they wouldn’t be paying medical and average salary. America has some of the hardest and committed workers in the world and the fact that big corporations can end people's careers at the snap of a finger is both terrifying and sickening. Take it from Ted a hard worker from the video My Reality: A Hidden America by Sawyer Diane. “He was one of the many that was fired from a big corporation that he had been working with for 25 years and one day they just told him he had to go. ”Throughout literature people have expressed their problems and feelings in a way that relates to the person.

In the novel Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck talks about the struggle and hardships of a duo named George and Lennie. Both characters struggle with the opportunity presented as it appears throughout the book to be troublesome. Both characters depict what the original struggle showed and suggested for the future. Opportunity, misfortune, and money all played a part on the struggles of achieving the American dream. In the jobs that people work to the people who pay people that money, success never comes easy. That is the common struggle in this world for everyone. People aren’t getting to work to their potential because this is America and it not fair. Hard working people of this country deserve to be on the front lines of opportunity not pushed to the side and told maybe next time. People who seek fortune are most likely to be turned down because of background or for ethnic reasons (Eckmann). If everyone were to realize that the American dream is not that far, and we can achieve such a dream if we unify and own up to our behavior. If we can work together and own up to our personal inhabits then the obstacles for the American dream can be in our grasps. However, being what society is, this will guaranteed never happen and we won't achieve anything close to unity. America is a place where people are overcome with greed and selfishness and only think about themselves. In a corrupt society such as America we tend to see people who are in a constant cycle of economical loss. This is all because everyone is at an economical loss from the start because first work is unavailable and its highly likely that we see an increase in poverty than in success.

The second reason would be that people don’t have any opportunity to succeed because based on stereotypes and racial disputes people don’t give others the opportunity to even try and its selfish. People of this great nation are being denied of opportunity, success, jobs, and housing. Long story short the citizens of the U. S are at an economical loss and will be for the next decade if we keep going down the road which we have started on many years ago. The American dream is asphyxiation people have when creating propaganda and schemes to trick people that America is great. America is not great, and the people of this nation are being manipulated from needs and wants. Although America be a country of promise and opportunity it is far from that. In America people don’t have the chances and opportunity of achieving the American dream.
