What is happiness? No one is born with happiness neither is it given to them, it is simply a feeling everyone wants to have. Sort of like a goal you want to achieve. Happiness is more than just having money and valuable things. It’s a feeling deep inside a feeling of accomplishment, love, and many more things. It is the feeling that wakes you up in the morning knowing it will be a good day. The feeling when you walk down the aisle and see the person you are going to spend your life with. Like a father who holds his first child for the first time. I can’t tell you how to find happiness but everyone is able to have it. Happiness isn’t just given it’s something you pursue.

Happiness is having the will to try. My mom always told me “How would you know if you don’t try”. When I first enrolled in college I had so many doubts; what if I wasn’t good and math? What if I couldn’t handle the visage studying cycle? I doubted myself so much until I realized why doubt the abilities god has given me. I studied every night, even if I didn’t have an assignment due; made A’s in on every math test I was given because I made the effort to try and not give up on myself. That’s where it begins, seeing the effort I put in to my studies and trying my best gave me the feeling of happiness.

Happiness is overcoming. There are many obstacles in life that we face as humans. Overcoming can be the hardest thing to do. It takes patients and desire to overcome and achieve happiness. As Americans we read and see so many success stories about people who came from rags to riches. Many of these people overcame because they had the desire and will power to make their worst situation into the best outcome. For example the movie “The Pursuit of Happiness” Chris Gardener was a man faced with many obstacles. He was a single parent with nowhere to go or stay. Lived in shelters and sold broken x-ray machines. He walked into an internship for a stock broker position, knowing nothing about the field he had was applying for but had the will power to learn. Chris Gardener worked his butt of until one day he was offered the position out of 100 college graduates. Having no degree or experience he made the best out his opportunity and overcame poverty.

Happiness is support. Having support from family and friends are an important role in what happiness is. The feelings of support make decisions you make easier and relieves stress. It also brings the feeling of security, knowing that every decision you make good or bad you have people who stand by you. Even when you accomplish a life goal for example when I graduated college and everyone came out to pay me respect and tell me how proud they were of me. It made me feel like I was on top of the world, knowing that I had the family who recognized my accomplishment and strive for success.

Happiness is living a wealthy life. Not saying that being wealthy makes everything get better in life but having the funds to keep you safe and secure for emergency situations. Knowing that you are taken care of can make you happy and also stress free about; how you’re going to pay your bills and support your family.

Happiness is an emotion. Everybody has their own image of happiness. There have been many studies on how humans come about being happy. Scientist have concluded that happiness is an emotion that comes from inside, not given from birth but a goal in life. Happiness is not already made. It comes from your own action and desire.
