Polarity is a term used in electricity, magnetism, and electronic signaling. It tells whether a circuit component is symmetric or not. The periodic or AC waveform is the resulting product of a rotating electrical generator. Generally, the shape of any periodic waveform can be generated using a fundamental frequency and superimposing it with harmonic signals of varying frequencies and amplitudes but that’s for another tutorial. Current reversal is when the current is reversed. Wave is the distance between crest to crest or trough to trough. A waveform is a example of how alternating current varies with time. The are irregular or complicated.

Hertz is a unit of frequency of one cycle per second. It replaced the term cycle per second. Kilohertz is a unit of alternating current or electromagnetic wave frequency equal to one thousand hertz. It is also a measurements of signal bandwidth. Megahertz is the same thing as kilohertz but megahertz equals one million. Megahertz is used for clock speed. The phase difference is less than 90 degrees. Use the angle by which the voltage leads the current. It leads to positive phase. Effective voltage is most common mathematical method of defining the effective voltage or current of an AC wave. The average value of a sine wave of voltage or current is 0.637 times the peak value. Because the voltage is positive during one alternation and negative during other alternation, the average value of the voltage values occurring during the complete cycle is zero. Period is the number of times the waveform repeats itself. Amplitude is a measure of the intensity, loudness, power, strength, or volume level of a signal. Harmonic is the term used to describe the distortion of a sinusoidal waveform by waveforms of different frequencies. Period refers to the time for something to happen.

Also known as the interval of time between following on another event of the same state in an oscillatory or cyclic phenomenon, for example a mechanical vibration, an alternating current, a variable star, or an electromagnetic wave. Period is the reciprocal of the frequency. Frequency is refers to the number of occurrences of a periodic event per time and is measured in cycles/second. Frequency is the reciprocal of the period.
