Why I Deserve Nursing Scholarship: Arguments

Is everybody deserves a scholarship? If it was true then anyone would have it. Within this scholarship essay sample I will explain why I deserve nursing scholarship. With reference to the post pinned on the school's official Facebook page, I am writing to express my desire in applying for a Scholarship, particularly the Academic Scholarship, at Universidad de Zamboanga. I am Qazweenie Faye D. Julhusin, a first year student from the department of the School of Allied Medicine, currently pursuing a four-year course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This is more than 250-word essay on why I deserve nursing scholarship in which I will explaine my education path and knowledge that I want to receive.

I came from a family of six, in which I am the second born child of my parents. Our eldest, my only brother, is also studying at this institution with the course of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. My two younger sisters on the other hand, are aged 14 and 10. My father is a househusband, thus my mother is the only breadwinner of the family. She is currently a teacher at Notre Dame of Jolo High School Kasulutan, where I studied in Junior High School. I have been a dependent of my mother since Junior High which helped us lessen our fees for my education. To repay my mother, I always try to do better in my studies which is why I am a constant honor student since I was in Grade 7 up to Grade 12, when I was in Senior High School. I have a very good academic record throughout my school as well as participated in various extra-curricular activities. My hard work and perseverance to do better in school made me achieve good results, as well as open opportunities that allowed me to grow and develop as a person in general.

Throughout my academic years, I was blessed with the opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities such as charity work, tutoring and `speak out` organisations. I believe this has enabled me to not only develop how I as an individual am able communicate in certain situation but more importantly, understanding others position and adjusting my behaviours in order to better accommodate their needs. For instance, after volunteering for the Salvation Army in order to help the homeless, I was able to interact with an understand certain mental obstacles individuals may face, such as low self-esteem which may subject them to mental disorders such as depression due to the inflexibility of the situation. Within why iIdeserve this scholarship essay, examples of how I gained skills that I already have are needed to be mentioned. So through tutoring year 7`s at Harris Academy I was able to develop basic components such as trust and respect which allows me to easily communicate with others which are needed in everyday life.

As I move forward to being a college student, my mother's salary alone is not enough to get me through college since my brother is also going for an internship, one of the requirements for a graduating student. We are currently facing financial issues the main reason why I am applying for a slot in the scholarship. If accepted, this would help me and my family lessen our financial need. I want to mention in this “Why are you a good candidate for this scholarship” essay that I am very much aware in the first place that my chosen course is an expensive and challenging field, but my desire to be a Registered Nurse outweighs my worries. Thus, I chose to study the course and I am more than determined to finish it.

My education already plays a significant role in my life and is yet to heavily influence my future. This opportunity is one I cannot resist and further expands my value towards my career. With my plans to become a therapist, I believe this Scholarship will aid me to strive towards new experiences where I hope to give back to society, through the support and guidance I can offer. In addition, if I were to be accepted for this scholarship, it would further encourage me to expand my education on paper, by committing to a master's degree and potentially even a PHD.

To end up why you deserve a scholarship essay, I am aware that you will receive many applications for the scholarship, but I assure you that I will not let you down with my performance. I really believe that with your help there will be an opportunity to study at the Duke University School of Medicine. This scholarship will not only aid me personally through a financial aspect but may also be seen as an investment for our future and the society in which we live in.
