Being the Boss of My Own Life

Determination stems from the sincerity of ambition, the toughness of character and unwillingness to compromise in the face of difficulty, fear and uncertainty. Although I am a fledgling who graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas and majored in accounting and just worked in a company for half a year, I have an ambition and determination to be the master of my own life.

To be the boss of my own life is to accept the possibility of greatness, not letting others determine my life or letting it be defined by the standards I deliberately set for myself; to be the boss of my own life is to live my life in a conscious, reflective way rather than to allow myself to be defined by the opportunities and the disappointments that I will surely confront just like everybody else. In order to be a competent boss of my destiny, the priority is to choose an optimum option at the turning point of my life.

At present, my turning point is this pivotal decision-to apply for a master position in supply chain management which is a combination of supervising risks and volume in supply chain management settings and regulating strategies in multicultural environments through effective communication, personnel management, and marketing skills. The bud of appreciating the management has sprouted with an irresistible inclination for reading materials about the arts of management and its regulation and real application in the real history. Soaking in such reading has become somewhat of predisposition for me. The passion for study, in turn, stimulated my enthusiasm for subjects of learning. Supply chain management seemed the most attractive land of paradise to me currently because of its practical value, its potential role in coordinating supplies and policy-making, and its effect of improving interpersonal relationships. With intentional appreciation of management art, I gradually attained the ability to conduct group work and maximize the achievement by my tactic endeavor.

Enchanted by this inexorable incantation, I started to apply the art to practice. The instance of helping my boss is a good case in point. Given the fact that there was a vacancy in the logistics coordinator, I spontaneously took the initiative to undertake the accountability of it. Eventually, after painstaking effort, I could totally be a competent logistics coordinator. This experience injected my vein with a dose of excitement of fulfillment, which overwhelmingly spurred my curiosity for management art.

As a proverb says, “a soldier who does not want to be a commander is not a good soldier”, as to the future plan, I would like to contribute my passion and industry to my work and get a bright prospect both in property and in promotion.
