Beyond Just Service

As I reflect on my journey to selecting Boston University, one department that stands out to me is the School of Hospitality Administration. While my interests have taken me down many paths over the years, I have always been drawn to the hospitality industry and the unique challenges it presents.

Hospitality has always been an area that has fascinated me. From the elegant dining experiences to the warm welcome received at hotels, the hospitality industry has always been a unique sector in my eyes. I've always found myself drawn to the glamour of this world, and it wasn't until one particular experience that I realized the true value of hospitality.

It all began with a family vacation a few years ago. We were staying at a luxurious resort, where we received exceptional service from the staff. They always seemed to anticipate our needs before we even realized we had them. From the moment we checked in, the hospitality we received was unparalleled. The receptionist was warm and welcoming, making us feel like VIPs. The hotel staff ensured that we were comfortable throughout our stay and made every effort to ensure we had an unforgettable experience.

This experience made me realize that hospitality is more than just providing a service; it's about creating memories. The attention to detail, the warm welcome, and the anticipation of our needs all played a part in making this vacation unforgettable. It was then that I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in hospitality.

As I delved deeper into the industry, I began to appreciate the various roles and responsibilities that make up the world of hospitality. From event planning to hotel management, the hospitality industry has an array of opportunities that I'm excited to explore. I'm particularly drawn to the idea of event planning, where I can put my creativity and organizational skills to use. I believe that my passion for creating unique experiences and attention to detail would make me an excellent event planner.

In addition, the school's emphasis on experiential learning through internships and study abroad programs aligns with my own goals of gaining real-world experience in the industry. I am excited about the prospect of working with industry professionals and being exposed to different cultures and ways of doing things.

I am confident that studying hospitality administration at Boston University will provide me with the skills and knowledge I need to succeed in this dynamic and ever-changing industry. It will also allow me to continue pursuing my passion for creating welcoming and memorable experiences for others. I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Boston University community and to learn from the best in the business.
