Empowering Excellence: My Pursuit of the Carson Scholarship

College Carson Scholarship is $1,000 financial aid award designed to help students pay for an undergraduate degree. Sometimes some college scholarships are a one-time check. Other school scholarships are renewable and provide money for students each semester or school year. Students might receive the money directly as a check in their name. In other cases, the money is given to the student’s school. In these cases, the student would then pay the school for the difference on any money owed for tuition, fees, room and board. I am applying for this college Carson scholarship because I am now a college student who has excelled academically and is committed to serving my communities.

I am currently doing B.Tech. Computer Science with specialization in Software Development and here, Kinetic Udyog Limited is paying the cost of your education. There is a mutual agreement between me and Kinetic Udyog. The agreement is that the company will pay for my college expenses and as soon as I complete my Bachelor’s degree I will serve their company with the skills I attained from the B.Tech.

There are so many different skills and values that I learnt so far in the B.Tech. It includes various soft and technical skills required to become an accomplished engineer along with appropriate behavior and communication skills. Here is an overview of the skills that I learned from the B.Tech. degree:

1. Communication Skills – Learned that it is necessary to have a habit to listening to what others are speaking and think before I speak.
2. Decision Making – In various activities it is necessary to think wisely and take the right decisions on right time.
3. Programming Skills – Got to learn about Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS and developed various Desktop and Web projects.
4. Presentation Skills – Got exposure to presenting my work on the projector in front of live audience during the presentation of my projects.
5. Management Skills – Exposure to workload lead to better time and resource management.
6. Documentation – Leant how to prepare some of the most common professional documents like CV, Resume, Reports, Arguments, Proposals etc.
7. Teamwork – Worked in teams many times and produced good results in various events and projects.
8. Critical Thinking – Analyzing the outcome and consequences of the decisions before it is taken.
9. Professionalism – Leaned how to behave and talk professionally.

Apart from these skills, I participated in the Smart India Hackathon 2019 and came runners up and also participated in the Codex Startup Einstein event which made me feel confident on myself and on my work and got to learn about various trends and skills apart from the activities of the university.

So far, the B.Tech. has been a really great experience and I learnt a lot from the extracurricular activities in the college which helped me get exposure to different tasks required to be become a professional.

The Bachelor’s degree can bring out the best in me and helping me a lot to become professional in my work. I found the exposure and challenges really beneficial for me working as a future engineer in the company Kinetic Udyog Ltd. and I had a great experience so far here in the college in one year. I am looking forward to learn new technical and soft skills in the upcoming years of my Bachelor’s degree and gain more experience of the professional world. “Nothing will work unless you do” – Maya Angelou
