Studying a Psychology BSc (HONS) at the Harvard University is my go-to dream that I hope to make real. So this is a sample letter of recommendation for psychologist position where I will explaine my passion to study here. Psychology has been a part of my life directly and indirectly for many years, I have experienced counselling my-self and have also worked in counselling charity where I have watched children from as young as 11 years old receiving counselling for emotional traumas. I have had a real aspiration to work with children as well as adults since I received my first counselling session. I have always been curious about human behaviour and how our mind works, such as, why the same trauma experienced by two individual is never interpreted the same way by our mind and how psychology can empower individuals to lead better lives. It is this fascination that makes psychology such a desirable subject for me.
I have researched counselling and psychology at length and felt positive this was my calling. I have studied AS psychology and have been working with vulnerable children between 11-25 from behind the scenes for nearly 5 years and have had discussions with many professionals about this subject. During my research, I have found psychology characteristics fascinating, particularly Atypical Psychology where I have investigated the condition delirium and read a biological thesis on the disorder and interviewed a sufferer (a friend) on how it had impacted their daily life.
I am certain this has given me the groundwork and will to succeed and appreciate the challenges the university course will present. My decision to study Psychology BSc (HONS) has been a fairly easy decision to make as I have done in-depth research on the course content. Without exception, every element of the course interests me and I look forward to the analysis, research and exploration of these elements in greater depth.
During my life, I have experienced many high and lows, particularly the ones where I have almost given up on myself but I have always gone by the philosophy of what doesn’t kill you can only make you stronger and have firmly put these issues behind me. This has formed me in to a determined individual with a will to succeed in all that I do and a real aspiration to help others. From my experiences, I feel that I have learnt a set of inimitable personal skills, such as compassion, open mindedness and an inquisitive mind. I have seen the challenges that being a young person thrown into to late GCSE at the age of 14 with no prior academic education has brought, this has further motivated me to learn more about how the mind develops and integrates into the world around us.
To end up this sample letter of recommendation for a mental health therapist, I am really passionate about becoming a Psychology BSc (HONS) as this degree explores key questions around why we do the things we do and how we interact with others. Through all the clinical experiences and academic knowledge, my interest in the questions of human realtionships and communication continue to be deeply personal. I hope to address that gap a little by using the training and education I gain at the Harvard University to pursue a master degree in the future. I would like to do both clinical work and research in the area of anxiety disorders, experimental acceptance and treatment. I believe that the program will give me the most comprehensive knowledge. Therefore, the program with the faculty is outstanding and I will have the privilege of pursuing my degree there.
