My Passion for Protecting the Planet

I have always been interested in the environment and the effects that people have on it because I grew up in a coastal city in Florida. The more I learned about the subject, the more I became passionate about finding solutions to the problems facing our planet. This led me to decide to pursue a career in Environmental Science.

The University of Florida is an ideal place for me to further my education and pursue my career goals. The university is well known for its research in the field of Environmental Science and has a faculty that is passionate about sustainability and the environment. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with professors who share my passion and learn from them.

One event in my life that inspired me to pursue a career in Environmental Science was when I witnessed the effects of a red tide bloom on the coast of Florida. The normally crystal-clear water was brown and murky, and the beaches were littered with dead fish. The smell was unbearable, and it was clear that something had gone terribly wrong.
