My Goal to Join the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University

My name is Zaineh, I am 18 years old an ambitious, passionate high school student who had finished grade 11 with a (99.5) degree and is looking forward to the future. For as long as I can remember, I have known what I wanted to do with my life. Science has been always a passion of mine, and computer science, in particular, has interested me for all the time. I believe that studying at the Carnegie Mellon University will be helpful for my fitire academic plans anf goals. 

Throughout high school thus I have far taken a rigorous curriculum and maintained a high score of (98.6) first term average. During the high school, I was involved in many volunteering programs and activities such as debating, presenting some workshops, taking some programming courses and first aid training courses as well as participating in some events at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. Through these programs, I have discovered many sides of my personality. I have discovered that I am responsible, focused, hardworking and easy to get along with. Not only my teachers at school told me that and but also many people who were in charge of/responsible for some of those activities. All these activities have contributed to improving my personality and self-development in addition to being the main reason for increasing my passion and love for the specialization that I have chosen to study.

In fact, I have realized what I want to be in the future early since I was 12 years old. Before that, I was thinking of studying medicine as that is the ambition for the most of the children, but then, I was obsessed with the idea of creating some games and controlling robots as that what my ICT teacher was teaching us about. She realized that I was attracted to the idea of programming and robotics, so she emboldened me to study computer science. She suggested many universities for me but after that, she strongly encouraged me to study at Carnegie Mellon University. She told me that Carnegie Mellon University is the best as it was ranked as the first school of Computer Science by the world report in 2014. And since then, I believed that my passion is studying computer science at Carnegie Mellon University. Because of that, I had started since that time learning some programming languages at home as well as taking some programming courses online and I took a programming course at Qatar Scientific Club, learning more about robotics and problem-solving.

I grew up and my dream grew with, as well. And every day I find a new reason to study Computer Science and I become more satisfied with my decision. As I progressed in school, the subject of science was truly charming me and it has been the passion of mine quickly. Physics and mathematics for particular were the most fascinating.

The main thing that motivates me was my parents. They both are engineers, so they were giving me the sense of responsibility and the importance of hard-working, therefore I can say that I was brought up in an environment that motivates me strongly to be ambitious, self-reliant, able to deal with difficult situations and take instantaneous decisions wisely.

Opening an international, such amazing school of Computer Science in Qatar, which offers a world-class excellent education, is such a great opportunity for me as a girl whose dream is studying computer science and help people to live a better life. It will be a great opportunity for me to join the school of Computer science at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar that will be my first step in the journey of a thousand miles and make me one day a distinguished programmer/computer scientist.
