My Interest in the Master's Course of Pharmaceutical Sciences

I am an undergraduate applicant for the course M.Sc Pharmaceutical Sciences with Industrial Practice at the University of Greenwich. I wish to start this course in January 2021. Currently, I am living in Modasa town in Gujarat, India. My father is a government school teacher in Modasa. I have an older brother and my mother is a homemaker, we are a total of 4 members in my family. I and my family believe that education is the most important step which will take me to the next level of my career and help me reach my goal.

Education Background

I achieved 80% in my 10th in the year 2013 from Gujarat Board. I have completed the 12th standard from Shri H.L. Patel Saraswati Vidhyalay in Modasa. In the 12th standard, I had taken up Science Stream( Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and then due to which I did a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the reputed University B.M.Shah College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at Modasa with 6.55 CGPA in 2019. During the undergraduate program, my industrial visits and laboratory practices created more passion in me for pharmacy. To learn more about the intricacies involved in the area, now I would like to pursue a master’s program in pharmaceutical science with industrial practice. The role of my Bachelor University is unforgettable in molding my unique personality. I had the seeds of an excellent education sown here and I maintained a good rapport with the faculty members, which motivated me towards the right career advancement.

Why the UK

UK degrees are valued all over the world. Since long back UK universities are very well known for Master's degrees. In the UK I am getting a wide variety of subjects to study in the Master course. In India, there are only general master courses whereas in the UK I will get a chance to select specialization of my choice that too after studying the 1st year and getting to know the various aspects. The UK master's degree will be highly advanced and I will learn the latest master theories and practices. In India, the curriculums are not often upgraded and the method of teaching is not very practical. Not just a good degree but by studying in the UK I will get a very good International Exposure. I will come in touch with people from various countries and backgrounds and there will be a lot to learn from all this.

And while I am in Year 1 I will still be enjoying all the campus facilities like the Library , labs & Sporting facilities of the University.

Why M.Sc Pharmaceutical Sciences with Industrial Practice

Having learned & learning basic knowledge regarding pharmaceutics science through various subjects in B.pharm such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Pharma administration will help me in my higher education. Out of my own volition I have chosen Pharmaceutical Sciences, which offers ample scope for research activities, and these parallels with my aspiration of an M.S. Degree. Joining a master's in Pharmacy subject is an important milestone and, as a person with a sense of respect & love for human life, I embraced the field of pharmacy. I was in particular interested in pharmaceutics. This is such a branch that any person who has the heart to feel and a mind to understand its depths and applications, this area has got tremendous Research and Development application in industry and it can adjudicate various queries in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

Future plans

After completing my Master's degree I will come back to India and look for jobs in reputed research organizations, where I can expect my starting salary to be higher then what I’m earning presently. My long term objective is to see myself as a researcher in one of the pharma research and development organization.
