Why I Want to Study International Relations

In this essay, I will elaborate on why I want to study international relations. From my early fascination with the intricacies of global relationships to my experiences in Model United Nations and my desire for a comprehensive education, I am drawn to this field. The University of ABC's diverse curriculum aligns with my interests and aspirations, providing the ideal environment to explore and contribute to international relations.

Ever since childhood, I have been fascinated by the constantly changing world that we live in wanting to explore and understand the causes and effects of the current and future human interaction. There are different kinds of relationships which can occur at different levels: personal, governmental, international. In the era of globalizationwe live in, international relations is gaining vital importance in regulation of all processes in the interconnected world of business, law, economics, etc.

When I got into high school, the thoughts about my future started to cross my mind. Most of friends had already decided what they wanted to do whereas others had their parents decide for them. As for me I was still unsure about my plans due to which I decided to participate in a lot of school activities in order to discover my talents. One of the activities that I participated in the Harvard Model United Nations. This MUN not only enhanced my speaking and debating skills but also allowed me to have a deeper understanding of the current world issues and the relationship that each nation shares with the other. It showed me that the countries, through debates, discussion and speeches can achieve their goals and come up with all possible solutions for the problem at hand.

In this respect, I started navigating and paying more attention to the world news, current affairs and newspapers as I wanted to increase my knowledge about the world. This was the time when I realized that I wanted to specialize in International Relations, an area which is concerned with global issues that go way beyond any particular country or region. It is the study which identifies theories of how cooperation and evolution can be attained and by not disrupting the framework of both developed and developing economies.

One of reasons I want to study at the University of ABC is that I want a curriculum where I get a chance to explore various areas with international relations and just be restricted to a certain topic and the University of ABC provides me with various opportunities to expand m parameters of knowledge. I believe that the University of ABC has all the courses I am willing to look into as well as an excellent administration who would help me achieve my future goals and interests.

Your wide range of topics which include civil war and international peacekeeping, and human rights and global justice perfectly suit my interests of being a part of United Nations. Besides, courses like policy formation and implementation and foreign economy will extend my insight about globalization. By taking this course I could understand comparative analysis of development and social change, the politics and economics of cultural identity as well.

Therefore, the University of ABC would be the perfect institution for me where I could pursue my academics and learning about the world in a proper manner. The curriculum provided by the University would help me get a wider and a wiser perspective of the issues at hand and about the relationship that the various countries share, whether it is in terms of human interaction or diversity in cultures. With all this knowledge and skills I would be capable to work for the government or the United Nations.
