Seizing The Opportunity: My Journey Towards Leadership and Impact at Georgetown University

I hope you are well. First and foremost, I want to thank you for considering my application and the decision to place my application decision on the waitlist. I am also writing to share with you my accomplishments and additional goals I have set out for my current position at Georgetown University since the application deadline, and why the Executive Masters in Leadership (EML) is the perfect opportunity for me, and how I hope to make an impact on my higher education career.

I continue to serve in the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) at Georgetown University, where I have continuous communication with scheduler administrators, deans, faculty and students across the university regarding course evaluations, room requests, and other high priority projects that will serve as a positive ripple effect. Recently, I started to receive more opportunities where I have taken ownership and serve as a liaison for more tasks to improve my leadership. I have had the opportunity to exercise independent judgment and initiative to create and implement best practices within OUR and the university related to student learning and development that align with the mission of the OUR office.

Finally, I am currently working on the development of more efficient processes for the schedule of classes’ algorithms. However, to develop an efficient process, this involvement will allow me to connect with faculty, as well as address other current scheduling issues with students. If offered admission within the Executive Masters in Leadership program, I tend to continue my involvement, but also research to help efforts ineffective decisions that represent best principles and practices.

Georgetown University is the ideal institution for me as I move towards a career in leadership and continue in public service. I value education, alongside research and instruction that promotes discussion and guidance as a means of being exposed to new ideas and opposing opinions. At Georgetown University, I see such an opportunity at the McDonough School of Business (MSB), to study alongside notable researchers and leaders within the EML program.

Additionally, I hope to participate in research on how to apply ethical based decision-making to help enrich business practices and society. These opportunities will provide me the groundwork to become an effective leader.

Finally, Georgetown University MSB offers the opportunity to further my leadership involvement on- and off-campus. I hope to grow in my career within the Office of the Registrar, but also identify, facilitate and address the needs and concerns of institutional policies and compliances. The opportunity to contribute to higher education and a public servant has always been my central motivation and goal to pursue additional leadership opportunities. I am eager to attend the Executive Masters in Leadership program to receive a world-class education and to inspire change through educational involvement, and to become a competent leader.
