The Importance of MBA Program for My Future Career

I wish to apply to the MBA program at Aston University for the 2020 winter intake. This program is a solid step towards my future career as a businessperson who understands and appreciates entrepreneurship. My ultimate career goal is to be the best, knowledgeable entrepreneur and leader thus I have chosen to apply for the MBA programme.

Business for me starts in 9th grade, selling muffins to my peers and making enough profit however, at that age, I was only doing it to save up for December holidays and I had no idea it would spark a fire, passion and hunger for entrepreneurship and business. By 2013 I was running Putley Events alongside the founder, in a nutshell she’s the creative and I am the brains of the business. I plan, coordinate and facilitate every event alongside my team of about 15.

My expertise running an events company lies in successfully developing and implementing forward-thinking execution techniques, strategic processes, as well as optimal staff deployments to maximize functional productivity and revenue growth. Through my experience, I have become adept at gestating and directing business development initiatives and streamlining events operations, as well as managing sales, marketing, finance and contracts. Additionally, my established success in hiring, training, delegating and supervising my team positions me to have made a significant and valuable contribution the company’s growth and sustainability.

I have achieved and demonstrated events managing, including strategic planning, operations, sales/marketing, customer relations, brand positioning, finances, business development, and staff leadership. Innovating and implementing strategic initiatives to propel the achievement of turning our client’s dream/goal/ objectives in a reality while maximizing profit margins and expanding market penetration opportunities for the business. Establishing strategic relationships with key suppliers to generate dynamic and top-producing partnerships, enhancing business opportunities and development additionally boosting the bottom line. Demonstrating excellent staff management talents and impelling corporate profitability and productivity through dynamic analytical, problem-solving, and communication proficiency.

My proven dedication to independently manage my event operational and business development responsibilities, along with my keen business sense and my entrepreneurial spirit, has made a huge impact to the business however, it’s 2020, exactly 7 years later and I realised that this business is not where it should be, despite its potential, our passion and years of experience, it still has not grown to reach the initial vision and plan we had. The most important lesson I have leant over the years is; running a business is one thing but running a business with the appropriate, relevant and required knowledge is another thing altogether.

There is no business degree, YouTube tutorial or even a book written by the greatest businesspeople that will amount to knowledge one gets from an MBA program. Getting my MBA will provide me with the intense business, management, strategy, marketing and financial knowledge that I need to achieve my goal of taking this business to the next level.
