Transformative Volunteering: Shaping Social Responsibility

Throughout high school, I have always been involved in various community service projects, but one experience, in particular, stands out as the most meaningful and transformative. The summer before my junior year, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local homeless shelter in my community. This experience not only opened my eyes to the realities faced by those experiencing homelessness, but it also instilled in me a deep sense of social responsibility and a desire to continue serving others as a student at UW-Madison.
