What initially drew me to this university was its strong commitment to social justice and community engagement. I believe that these values align with my own personal beliefs and goals, and I am excited to be a part of such a community.
My interest in School Social Work was inspired by a relative of mine who works in the field. She has shared with me the importance of School Social Workers in supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. She has described to me the challenging but rewarding nature of the work and how it can change the lives of students who need it most. In addition to my academic and personal interests, I have also been involved in various extracurricular activities that have helped me develop my leadership skills and taught me the value of teamwork. I have been a member of the debate team, which has taught me the importance of critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. I have also volunteered at a local nonprofit organization, where I have gained valuable experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Overall, I am excited about the prospect of attending SUNY Binghamton University and pursuing a career in School Social Work.
