Why I Want to Become a Teacher

To have a desire to become a teacher can sounds weird nowadays. Nevertheless it was and it is still my dream. This is an essay about teacher in which I will explaine why I want to become an educator in the future. Growing up I did not have friends, it was just my siblings, Joshua, my older brother, and Andrew, my younger one. Andrew has down syndrome, meaning he is at a lower level than other children. When I pick him up from the bus he always smiles and screams my name while he carries his paw patrol backpack, and marvel action figures in his hands, soon as we enter the house we get started on homework. We sing the ABC’s, count numbers, and I use all the apples seeking ways to teach him how to add in a way he could understand. When Andrew gets his answers correct his face lights up as his dimples start to appear, showing his cute smile, and he always uses every muscle in his body to move, so he can dance, and jump because he was so proud of himself.      

During the time I’ve spent with Andrew, I learned that being an educator is what I want to do. This is about me teacher, examples when I have my first experience in teaching. When I was younger, grasping ideas in certain classes became a problem because the quality of the teachers and how they lacked giving out classwork, no student deserves to be overlooked to make the job easier. I want to remind the education world that teaching could be a passion, not a bank check. I want to be a teacher that motivates, inspires and encourages kids to become successful in life. The word education brings me to believe the meaning of education. In essays on becoming a teacher education defines as trying to start helping students prepare for the real world by making them become independent beings and giving them a bit of knowledge that they need for future careers.  

Montclair State has been a college I recently looked at, and right off the bat, I knew that this college was for me as I continue to grow as a person, and better my education. When a lady from Montclair came to visit my school she provided me with lots of information on what majors Montclair was known for, and when she said education was one of them I was super excited because right then and there is when Montclair started to become my dream school. As I continued to do more research on the Montclair I saw that the university is only 20 minutes away from my house, meaning I am not too far from home, I get to spend time with my family, and Andrew and help him with his homework. 

Montclair State is the college I would really like to attend as I continue my education. Now I thing that if I wrote being a teacher essay I would be happy to mention that Montclair State College was a place where I got my education. When I started connecting with Andrew I knew that being a teacher was my goal in life, I also knew that Montclair State would be the perfect opportunity for me to succeed in my dream. I know Montclair has everything I need to help me become the teacher I aspire to be. I want to be someone they want to look up to or someone they can go to when they’re feeling down, I want them to trust me, and know I’m here for them whenever they need it. Montclair State is the school I can become this person, and where I can become this educator which is why I would like to continue my education at Montclair State University.
