Michael Jackson's Thriller Hits an Amazing Success

Thriller by Michael Jackson is considered as the biggest selling album after it is launched. From contemporary to rock/pop music or the electronic version it has really served its purpose and that is entertaining its audience. Michael Jackson's album got the record as the biggest selling album since his album was able to sell 65 million copies worldwide. In the year 1984, it has been recorded to win the Grammy Awards with a title of Album of the Year. Jackson's fame continues to grow even after his departure from the world.

Michael Jackson's Thriller is a record holder because it dominates the world of music as the biggest selling album of all time and the album has nine good songs. Jackson’s music was an example of the phrase ‘music is a universal language of mankind’ (LONGFELLOW) With over 1000 songs and more than 10 albums Michael Jackson touched hearts globally. His dance moves and styles were not only America’s obsession, it had become a global sensation especially after the video release of his all-time best-selling album ‘Thriller’.

The album endures the music industry with a record of over Twenty-Nine million copies sold, and a whooping win of seven Grammies it was a milestone in the life of Michael Jackson. The release of ‘Thriller’ thirty-four years ago on Nov, 30 thrilled the whole world with its tuneful nine audio tracks. MJ released video clips for two of its songs ‘Beat it’, ‘Billie Jean’ and ‘Thriller’.

Born out of outsized ambitions of Michael Jackson the album became the biggest pop star sensation of the world. The album was for everyone who loved and worshipped music. In fact, it had no target audience, it had a song for everyone.

The album includes the nine audio tracks. The list are Wanna be starting something, Baby be mine, The girl is mine, Thriller, Beat it, Billie Jean, Human Nature, P.Y.T ( Pretty Young Thing), and The lady in my life. Baby be mine and The Lady in my life are the two tracks not released as singles.

Now let’s have a thorough journey through Michael Jackson’s revolutionary album. Those who have not heard it fill find the journey a revelation for them to listen to Jackson's creation, if they have not yet. Those who listen and cherish the album regularly like me will surely agree with me on this review.

The album open up with a solo track by Michael Jackson ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’. It is a typical MJ track written by himself. The song was pertain to outsiders scattering rumors to jump into an argument without any no good reason. Critics who now see the song lyrics in the light of MJs psychological health in the 2000s consider it as a reflection of Michael’s mind state. The song lyrics like “You’re a vegetableYou’re a buffetThey’ll eat off you” shows MJs odd self-basement. Critics also say that it revealed the paranoid streak of the singer. The closing move of the move (appraised as genius by critics) “Mama-say mama sah ma-ma-coo-sah” copied directly from the song ‘Soul MAkossa” by Manu Dibango got some legal issues going on that later were settled by the two parties, made this single a number five at the charts of Hot 100.

The most famous song of the album and also the key song of the album was the ‘Thriller’. The song was a non-conventional music tune that created a stir in the music industry. The song as name indicates was originally based on a horror theme. Sound effects like thunder, creaking door, howling dogs, winds and feet walking on wooden planks were added as background music to make the song relate to the theme. The lyrics were also written so as to convey the elements and themes of horror. The song was written by Templeton. The moves in the song’s video became Michael Jackson’s signature move. The sound of the MJs killer voice and sleek dance moves gave the song a groovy look.

‘Beat it’ was the third song whose video was released. Michael Jackson wrote the song himself. The song’s success can be calculated by the number of awards it won including the Grammy. The song lyrics are about courage and defeat. To me it was a dismal explanation of human nature. Lyrics like “don't be a macho man" according to many expresses Michael Jackson’s aversion to violence, while others think it also referred the abuse he faced during his childhood by his father.

P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing) is the sixth song of Michael’s album. Here I just gave reviews of my personal favorites but if you listen to all of them (which I strongly recommend) you will note the diversity of each song. The songs are a perfect mix of universality of music that can be listened at any time anywhere.

I would really recommend you listen to its revised version and advise you to get the album as soon as possible. Although modern music industry has produced some very popular songs but now it is basically about using various technology techniques that makes the song sound a lot better than its original version. New generation though follow the new stars regularly, but I don’t think anyone can ever forget Michael Jackson. His songs are still listened and used by media on various platforms. MJ was and is loved by the old and new generation equally.

The album influences the audiences through each lyrics and steps Michael Jackson did in his album. The album becomes iconic because it has been easily recognized by his audiences and the lyrics of the songs captured the heart of the people. Some people can relate with his album even if the sound is rock or pop music. This just shows that Michael Jackson has his own distinction in the music industry and has been developed a great audience even in the present generation. Now, Michael Jackson has been also portraying by other people to show respect and idolization to him. The album of Michel Jackson touched the lives of his audiences not just because of his album but also his good moral as a singer.

The introduction of the writer is good because he stated a background information about the writer. Through this, it gives an overview among the audiences and support what the writer will include in his analysis. After that, the writer discussed the title of the song, followed by the analysis of the lyrics, melody, and the figures of speech used of the singer. I like how the document is written in a well-organized manner and I can follow the organization of the document. The font style and font used are also great because he was able to italicized some of the title to give emphasis on the document.

Also, the format of the document is very readable among the audiences. To talk about the rhetorical analysis of the writer, he was able to explain his analysis however, he forgot to include a concrete details and explanation with some facts or evidences like some lyrics from the song. I think this is useful when explaining such rhetorical appeal to the audiences. Another one is that when the author said about how the singer convinced the audience through giving his logic of the song, the author should explain on what part of the song the singer gave it. Overall, the song was great and clear.
