Before comparing living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included and living in an extended stay hotel living in an extended stay hotel looks more expensive, but how true is that really? In this paper, I hope to help you make up your mind on if you should stay in an extended stay hotel or in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included by showing you some of the similarities and differences between the two options. I will start with the similarities of living in an extended stay hotel and living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included and then move on to the differences in each circumstance. By the end of this paper, I will have shown you the least expensive option and the most expensive option and why the numbers add up the way they do.
Although there are many differences between living in an extended stay hotel and a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included there are, however, a few common factors to point out first. For instance, you get a kitchen in both circumstances, even though one of the kitchens is much bigger than the other. Nevertheless, they both have a few cabinets, a fridge, in most cases a microwave, a stovetop, and a sink. You would also have conveniences living with either option like being close to shopping, entertainment, and close to the interstate and other major roads. It could also provide a convenience of being close to your job. You are, of course, able to sleep indoors in both situations. You even get a free perk with parking and having all your utilities included in the price of your rent. Last but not least, you have to provide all of your food that you will be cooking and eating while living at either place. All the similarities of living in an extended stay hotel and living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included are easy to spot; the differences, though, are not quite as easy to spot.
Living in an extended stay hotel may seem expensive and even crowded, but the perks that come with it could actually outweigh the cost of living there. The average yearly cost for an extended stay hotel is about $28,000 which, yes, does sound like a lot of money, but by the end of this paper it will sound reasonable. You do unfortunately only have one room to live in so if you like to spread out or have a family larger than four this is not your best option. Of course it does depend on how old your children are, because the younger they are you could get away with staying in an extended stay hotel but as they get older it will get harder to live there with them. Living in an extended stay hotel means you do not have to buy any furniture for the place. It comes with a small kitchenette with dishes, silverware, pots, and pans. It has a small bar table to eat at with two-four chairs provided. It comes with beds, a loveseat, end tables, and one-two dressers. You get a T.V. with around 50 channels (sometimes more), a free phone with customizable voicemail, and free unlimited internet. The hotel provides sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, toiletries, dish soap, and even free housekeeping one-three times a week (more if asked). So, if you do not have a large family, do not mind only having one window, and do not get claustrophobic then living in an extended stay hotel is just right for you.
Now, living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included may seem like a better deal price wise, but after adding up all the extra cost, you will rethink that idea as a whole. The average yearly cost of living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included is about $12,100. Seems like a great deal, right? So, with this price you get two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a full-size kitchen, and a dining room. You will also have an average of five-seven windows to let in a lot of natural light. You do, however, have many other costs that you have to worry about. To start there's renter's insurance, which has an average yearly cost of $2,800. You also have to buy all of your furniture which can cost a pretty penny, and depending on what types of furniture you get will determine the price, but on average a family will spend around $5,000 for just the basic furniture. You will also have to buy your own dishes, silverware, pots and pans, which can easily cost you up to $200. Then, there are towels, blankets, sheets, pillow cases and pillows that can cost on average of $500. Even your toiletries and cleaning supplies end up costing you more than expecting with an average cost of $1,920 a year. The other extra cost is your T.V. internet, and phone; for just the basic bundle with only 20 channels, 10G of high speed data, and no long distance you are spending an average of $1,680 per year. So, you may have more space in your two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included, and the initial cost of the rent is cheaper than an extended stay hotel, but after you add up all the extra yearly costs that come with, it actually ends up totaling an average of $33,100. Thus proves the main point that living in an extended stay hotel is cheaper than staying in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included.
I have now gone over with you the similarities and the differences between living in an extended stay hotel and living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included. I showed you the perks that come with living in an extended stay hotel and all the extra cost of living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included. So, is it cheaper to live in an extended stay hotel or is it cheaper to live in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included? Before all the extra costs of living in a two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included the average yearly cost is $12,100, but after all the extra costs it brings the average yearly cost up quite a bit with a whopping price of $33,100; the average yearly cost of living in an extended stay hotel, however, is only $28,000. That makes living in an extended stay hotel a better option price wise with a difference in price of $5,100. Therefore, if what you are looking for is to save a few thousand dollars the choice is clear, go for the extended stay hotel with all those lovely perks.
