“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” The man credited with this quote is known as one of the brilliant men of the 20th century, Albert Einstein. This quote represents my life growing up full of curiosity. As a young child, with busy parents, I was, at times, full of absolutely nothing to do. With absolutely nothing on my hands, however, one day I found anything near me- a basket full of tennis balls. As any normal elementary school kid would do out of curiosity, I explored what I could do with my limited resources. I threw the balls, tossed them around, caught them, over and over. This brought to my attention that with practice and learning independently, anything could be achieved.
This began my journey through the uncharted areas in my life that I knew could be explored through my sense of independence. At a young age, I was always told specifically how to approach doing things, or how to do a specific thing exactly. Therefore, when I came about in the situation where I was alone with simply a basket of tennis balls, it symbolized an important turning point in my life of maturity. That I could learn to do something, for the first real time in my life, by myself. At first, it was nothing but failure; it was impossible to learn alone without guidance. As a kid, something with difficulty would certainly push anyone back down into giving up. However, my drive to learn and master a skill stopped me from not constantly practicing through points of failure. This sense of accomplishment of teaching myself how to juggle simply from having looked at others juggle gave me a sense of proudness- one that today, still drives me and motivates me into trying and persevering through difficulties and overcoming them. Simply juggling taught me an immense lesson that hard work doespay off, leaves a sense of accomplishment. The most important impact that this event had in my life was, however, that failure is important because it is a symbol in life to stand back up. Many times today, I get a feeling within myself that whatever I am doing, it is impossible to accomplish. Looking back, had I not thought the same for juggling, yet it was very possible? This thought is what keeps me standing and makes me who I am today, a capable teenager that is driven by motivation to be proud.
Curiosity leads a far path in life, and do not know what contribution it can make in your life. However, today, curiosity led me to who I am today, and how I achieve many difficulties in my life. Simply wanting to keep myself away from boredom led to a lesson that is remembered today in my everyday activities.
