One school that offers courses in graphic design is The Art Institute of Phoenix. Students will need to be creative, inventive, and inquisitive. The course teaches the student to combine form and function to create a visually appealing and compelling design that meets customer needs. Employment rates after graduation from this program is high less than 10 students graduated this program in 2012-2013, so not many students apply and therefore this isnt a very popular degree choice in college students. While not many apply, that simply leaves room for more to receive financial aid for the program. Tuition rates are approximately $83,871, not including books($2,800) and on campus room and board($40,570) per year.
A local graphic design or creative firm is graphic design fx. They want your work to stand out among the competition. They create website designs and ads, as well as magazine designs. Graphic design fx also does restaurant promotion and marketing ads. As far as awards go, in 2008 they did a design for a magazine that got mailed to over 97,000 homes and businesses. They maintain a small staff with high expertise in their area of work. Graphic design fx was originally a family business, but has now expanded.
There is a job at GCU(Grand Canyon University) for an assistant professor -graphic/web design-college of fine arts and production. It would be a 12 month contract(1 year) starting on August 11, 2015. A huge requirement of this position is that you must be able to instruct undergraduates with enthusiasm. It is required to teach a minimum of 4 courses each semester. All candidates must supply a cover letter, a link to a website with professional examples of work as well as supervised student work with descriptions.
