I researched a bunch of recreational management problems and I came across a long and detailed list of some. Two that I decided to look at are about keeping fitness equipment clean and maintaining consistent water quality in a pool. I thought these two were interesting because I work out a lot and I want to know how workout equipment is kept really clean. Also, I like to swim so I want to know how water quality in a pool is kept consistent.
Working at a health club and having happy customers and members is very important. Besides having fantastic customer service, equipment needs to stay clean and healthy looking for all users. Besides having employees clean them; having users clean them after their workout is important. Having customers’ clean equipment after they use it is very important because it helps the spread of bacteria, germs, viruses and etc. But the hard part is figuring out what cleaning supplies to have to clean the equipment.
When finding cleaning supplies to clean the equipment you do not want to use anything that has alcohol in it because alcohol can dry out rubber, destroy leather and it can destroy stitching. You also do not want to use sprays because they can get in areas of equipment where you do not want them and that can lead to damage and malfunctions. It is best to find wipes that manufactures say are good for cleaning equipment and the certain areas that need cleaning such as seats, hand grips, arm pads, and etc.
A second recreational management problem that I researched was keeping pool water quality consistent. In order to maintain pool water consistency you need to know how big the pool is and how many people use it on a daily basis. Also, you need to know if you use chlorine and bromine to clean the water and pool. All of the equipment you use for the pool must be checked regularly and inspections should be done for the pool. Water testing is required to be done daily to check the water quality of the people.
Signs of dirty water is cloudy water, presence of algae, or any filtration issue. When problems occur it is important to deal with them right away. Waiting to deal with them can make the situation worse. To make sure the pool and the pool water itself is taken care of on a daily basis it is important that all times you have a water maintenance program and you keep it updated to make sure that the pool is taken care of.
Both of these recreational management problems are an everyday battle especially when you are in charge of a pool, a water park, or a health club. Solving these problems is important in order to make sure the water is clean or the equipment is clean. Managers do not want to hear complaints from customer or employees and they try their best to do that.
